Over 200hrs played..
Still nothing.
Have had two crashes while playing DLC
Both were freezes - one i was able to alt-tab and restart my system as i couldnt kill the ACV window and the second one was CTD with the Ubisoft error report window popping up.
Its very random - can play for 2-3 hrs with no problems then play for 10 minutes and it crashes.
Very annoying.
@johnnyjo666
Think you're definately right that Ubisoft Connect app is culprit for majority of crashes.
Whether they will ever fix the issue is a matter of debate.
@virussen
Nice! Just for extra verification.
I've had 4 crashes/freezes in about +/- 75 hrs of gameplay.
Seems like a random event but considering its all happened in the space of around a week its slightly annoying.
First 2 were CTD's with no errors. Nothing in the event log as the Ubisoft error reporting thing came up after the crash.
Last 2 were freezes with audio in background - event log indicated D3DDRED2 and AppHangB1. In both instances i was able to alt-tab to windows and kill the process.
Hi all
I just wanted to give my experience of the crashes/freezes that i have logged since the start of playing the game since release date.
Overall in just under 240hrs of gameplay i've counted 15 crashes/freezes. Not enough that its a constant worry but its still too much to call it "stable"
All nvidia drivers are up to date. i resisted the temptation to roll back as it wasn't a constant issue that warranted a roll-back.
I could go days without any issues then all of a sudden one would pop up. I will say that i never had more than 2 on any given day so in that regard i was lucky.
5 of them were CTD, some of them were CTD's without any error messages and a few actually had me doing the whole sending of error reports to Ubisoft.
The rest were the freezing with the sound still playing in the background issue (this is the main one that i see popping up regularly in the forums)
I wanted to focus on this issue as its happened the most and there's no clear indicator what actually triggers it.
Looking at the event ID's each time the one that popped up the most was D3DDRED2.
Some of the things that i was doing when the game froze:
So in general - anything! I will say the freezes in the distrust area were a bit odd but ill put that down to mere co-incidence.
Crashes usually happened within the first hour of gameplay but there was the odd occasion when it froze after 4+ hours though.
This is still a big issue that i see pop up and to my knowledge this isn't even on the "known issues" list
Looking at the list i'm a little shocked as to what they deem "priority" when there are many people who cant even play 5 minutes.
I'm probably gonna take a break from the game for a bit. Think the only thing i need to finish is the fishing collection and complete a few mysteries (a few are bugged so don't know when they will get patched)
Hopefully Ubisoft can actually start tackling the real problem for players and get the mess sorted.
Thank you
So i've been monitoring my freezes/crashes and have counted 11 of them so far over 200hrs of gameplay. Not a catastrophic number by any means but enough to be annoying nonetheless.
All crashes so far have been soft crashes so i was able to get back to windows and kill the process.
I can play for hours with the problem never surfacing and then it will crash at a random time. I found that if it crashes it usually happens within the first hour of gameplay but there have been exceptions.
They were either CTD or freezes with sound in the background like many of you have mentioned.
Strangely ive had alot of the freeze/crashes in distrust areas (happened in Cent, Wincestre, Ledecestre and smaller area called Wandrie)
Anyone else had that issue? It seems like a very odd co-incidence and i highly doubt it would crash in those sort of areas but stranger things have happened it guess.
@beiser12
yeah the freezing with sound still in the background. You're not the only one so don't worry.
I see you had freezing issues in Cent, curiously i had 2 freezes in Cent while leap of faithing!
Very random and alot of my freezes see to happen in Distrust areas but i think that's just an odd occurence.
@fr2k707
Be thankful that you can atleast play.
I got the Season Pass months ago and i cant even play
Hi there
So i recently downloaded AC Valhalla again and the download size is insane at 150 gigs (atleast on pc)
Any plans on trimming the size as was previously done a while back?
Good day
I have a strange oddity in that after i update my nvidia drivers when i load up the game it hangs at the splash screen for around 90 seconds before it goes into the game.
On subsequent load-outs it returns to normal but i have confirmed after the last 3 nvidia driver updates that it initially takes quite a while to get into the game.
Its a minor issue and i dont know if this is a game or GPU issue but i just wanted to know if anyone else experienced anything similar to this.
Thank you
Hi there
I have a minor issue in that when i change a key-binding it keeps on resetting to default when i start the game up again.
So i have to re-enable each time i start up AC Valhalla.
Its nothing major however if there is a solution please let me know.
Thank you.
@savvage91
Exactly same only see Community Challenge
Hi there
Just checked to see what challenges there were for the week reset and only had the one for the river raid which was a community challenge.
So just wondering if there is no reset this week?
Thank you.
Hi there
Are people still having issues with Orichalcum collection in Korfu where they are able to pick them up but dont register to the final tally?
Had this since the new area came out so was wondering if this will ever get a fix.
Good day
I noticed that when i started the update my folder size for AC Valhalla is 200GB
Understandable as it was originally around 130GB
I want to know if when the download is finished will it properly consolidate the files in the folder?
My download speed aint great so it will take a while so i want to know if i should start again/delete the folder entirely.
Thank you
@lnhzz
you can use a utility called Display Driver Uninstaller to do a clean uninstall of your current GPU drivers if you're comfortable
Do this in safe-mode, restart and then install the previous version that were stable.
Played for an hour just fine then i got 2 CTD's within 5 minutes.
Did the whole error report sending as well.
Event viewer points to nvlddmkm display driver error.
Just updated my Nvidia drivers so it could be that but wont be sure until i do a roll-back
@lnhzz
i got two crashes back to back - strange that i managed to play for an hour before both happened.
Event viewer points to nvlddmkm display error.
Could be updated nvidia drivers - wouldnt be surprised in the least.
