Hello everybody,
We will be performing a maintenance tomorrow, Monday, February 20 at 8 AM CET / 2 AM ET. The expected downtime is 15 minutes.
Players that are in-game during the maintenance will not be disconnected but finding a other players in matchmaking might be disrupted until you fully restarted the game client after the maintenance has concluded.
We will update you on the progress of the maintenance.
The Settlers Dev team
Hello everybody,
We are performing scheduled maintenance today at 2 PM CET / AM ET / 5 AM PT and the expected downtime is 30 minutes. We will keep you posted on any changes to the timing and when the maintenance will be completed.
Patch Notes:
We are still working on the desync issue players have been experiencing in multiplayer and we are planning to do an additional Hotfix or patch as soon as possible.
The version information of the game will not update today, mentioning this as it was a point of confusion for the last patch!
Thanks for your patience,
The Settlers Dev Team
Hello everybody,
We are preparing another hotfix to deploy additional fixes for crashes and the desync issues players have been experiencing in multiplayer. The expected downtime on Thursday will be 30 minutes.
Patch Notes:
Once the update has been deployed we're eager to hear your feedback on multiplayer sessions, so please feel free to reach out on the forums or social media once you've had the chance to try some matches after the hotfix is live.
The team is also working on additional bug fixes and game changes and we will keep you posted on any updates coming in the near future.
Thank you!

Hello everyone,
The team is working on several fixes for the remaining crash issues and the bigger issue for multiplayer sessions, the desync problem. Until we have a firmer understanding when these fixes can be applied we won't be able to provide an exact schedule yet.
With the caveat of this potentially still changing, I want to mention that we are on track for another hotfix next week. More details to follow as the team finalizes the changes and fixes.
Thanks for your patience!

Hello everyone!
Thank you for the nice comments.
We will share news about content to come in the future, but our priority right now is fixing the bugs that prevent people from enjoying the experience!
Cheers,
Your The Settlers DEV-Team
Hello everyone!
Thank you for the positive comments and ideas to improve!
Let's share some thoughts on the topics:
We hope this information will help.

Hello everyone!
Thanks for sharing your feedback with us, we always appreciate detailed posts that outline some of the things we can improve on. Launch is a hectic period but we make an effort to read as much as possible on here, social media, Discord, etc. Let me share some feedback from our side as well!
We will gladly share more information when we're closer to the release of these patches!
We think food boosting will become more relevant as skills between players are more evenly matched. Boosted mines, furnace and blacksmiths produce 8 times more soldiers which can make a big difference.
Cheers,
Your The Settlers DEV-Team
Hello!
We are performing scheduled maintenance tomorrow, Tuesday, March 21 at 11 AM CET/6AM ET/3 AM PT. We are expecting a downtime of 30 minutes.
This maintenance will be used for backend changes and services, no player facing changes. If we are able to include any fixes we will be updating the patch notes tomorrow after maintenance has completed.
Thank you,
The Settlers Dev Team
Hello and thanks for the feedback! Always glad to see players enjoying themselves. We are indeed planning on adding more maps to the game at a later date and of course making more balance adjustments like we did with the patch on Thursday.
We've seen players discuss the "free mode" and map editor ideas and have forwarded them to the team. For now there are no new updates on that front but we'll keep you posted if anything changes.
Thanks again!
The Settlers Dev Team
Hello and thank you for sending this over. The team is aware of this issue and working on a fix to resolve this. In the meantime replaying a mission again can help trigger the rewards properly.
We will keep you updated on the progress in our upcoming patch notes once the team has identified a fix for this!
Cheers

Hello Frodosam, Asmordeus!
The sawmill nerf has correctly brought in the effects we wanted to see:
Players are now more wary of how they use their Lumber, and the starting area no longer provides sufficient Lumber for the whole match. Very few maps had a challenge for players, specifically The Depths (2v2) and sometimes The Shire (1v1).
We initially set off to smoothen the curve between initial needs and lategame overflow.
We have seen matches end with 300+ Lumber in storages, simply wasting away waiting for stone.
We're now seeing a more balanced equation between Lumber and Stone, but it's not perfect, especially difficult early game.
The problems you point at are really about the starting situation, which we will work together with the community in smoothing out. It was never intended for players to always have enough fish to feed all three building types (logging camp, sawmill, quarry). As you mention, a reduction in building costs could help, or an increase in starting stock.
We will also examine other aspects that may be related, like a reduction of defensive structure cost, or the harbor. Feedback is of course welcome!
Thank you very much for your patience and support,
Your The Settlers DEV-Team.
Hello everyone!
Thank you for the feedback on the last update.
We're happy to see players theorycrafting and discussing the changes that arrived last Thursday.
This thread contains a lot of points and questions that we'd be happy to add more information about.
Also there's a Developer's Insight coming soon about these topics for additional insights and context.
- The forester now produces 1 log per minute. Sawmills' cycle is faster than these, so you may want to have more foresters than sawmills.
-> You may consider giving your logging camps Food boost to obtain more logs than your sawmill can cut. This can allow you to split the yield to produce more foresters.
- AIs can now choose among multiple strategies. Sometimes they will be aggressive, sometimes turtly.
-> Work on these will continue as we iterate and see how players react to it.
- Player endorsing is currently being promoted by the weekly challenge. We hope more players share the love this way!
- The Settlers has always been played in a myriad of different ways. Some players prefer solo, others multiplayer. We hope that with Hardcore mode and campaign everyone can find their fit.
-> If you're in the search of a particular multiplayer size match, joining communities or organizing with others can help. For solo matchmaking, 1v1 will probably yield the fastest matchup.
- Food boosting is much more relevant in multiplayer matches. As soon as you have infinite time to work with, being efficient is not very important.
- Since the sawmill change we've seen a lot more players explore the use of Stone for roads. We hope that a new value is found for it, as an alternative to that powerful research.
- Donkey carts currently have 3 uses: between warehouses, from warehouse to harbor, and to building sites that require more than 5 of a material. While they are very limited in their use, they're very good at what they do.
-> A bigger issue we see is that players don't often see a need to recruit new ones because most skirmish maps give some for players to begin with. We will look into this behavior in the future.
- The population limit is currently thought of as a challenge to balance between economy and military. There are currently no plans to change it.
- We will share news about new maps when we're ready to show them.
We're always reading the community comments on our changes.
As the strategies of our players evolve, it is important always to make sure we're not removing fun from the game.
Cheers,
Your The Settlers DEV-Team
Hello! We understand the delay of the console version is disappointing and it was a tough step for us as well. The PC version didn't launch in the state we wanted it to be and there were definitely some areas that caused trouble that we didn't expect, as the TTS had given us quite a bit of data and info to work on and with.
The team has since been working hard on making the PC version as good as it can be, delivering a bunch of hotfixes and patches to improve the games' stability, improve the desync issues and resolve several issues causing the game to crash. As mentioned in the message about the console delay though, we are not done working on the game and more patches and hotfixes are planned.
As we said, we want to ensure that the consoles get a great experience when The Settlers: New Allies launches and that's why the team will take some extra time to continue the work. As with all things game dev, nothing is just as simple as "just doing it" and we appreciate the patience and your continuous feedback on the game.
We will keep you posted on the progress and will announce a new release date as soon as we are ready.
Hello Onemenaces. Sorry to hear you lost your save file due to a crash. Has this happened after the latest patch? Is this something that happens regularly? Was there something specific going on while you were playing that might have caused the crash?
If you can provide us with a bit more info on the crash I can forward it to our dev team! Thanks.
@robains Hey! The team is still working on additional fixes for the game, as well as a balance update. Once we're closer to the release we will have patch notes going live with that as well.
If you're interested in joining our team, Ubisoft is always looking for talented people and you can find the current job listings here: https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/company/careers/search
In the meantime we appreciate the patience and will keep you posted when the next fixes are coming!

Hello and thanks for the feedback on the in-game shop. We're definitely looking into adding more variety to the shop so it doesn't feel as repetitive. I will also forward the feedback on the soft currency prices compared to real money prices you mentioned.
Thanks!
