@souldrinkerlp You nailed it bud. Game has you playing as a mass murderer, that kills on a whim, breaks and enters into a home or location, robs them blind, menaces people that disagree, has a psychotic serial killer Ivarr (Blood dragon scene made me grimace and I've seen worse) that cuts out eyes and tortures, cuts along spinal cord; black out drinking games to see who will drink the most in the shortest amount of time people, of which die from this "game" all the time irl, etc. etc..
And yet a Zealot description is the "line" they regret crossing. 100% hypocrisy.
‘Good Catch’ trophy does NOT need you to use the fishing line. Arrows definitely count, and melee might. Also, you ONLY need to catch 1 of each type, NOT 1 size of each type. So ANY flatfish, ANY bream, ANY mackerel, etc.. YOU are welcome. I have the achievement and it popped after an arrow kill. I rarely used the fishing rope.
@ UbiExcellent @foggy2dm That is NOT a fix!! You still don't have Big Flatfish nor Big Mackerel, nor Big Eel!!! Shame on @UbiExcellent for not even knowing the difference after 3 months of this garbage.
For the record since people still don't know, you ONLY need one of EACH fish for achievement. NOT one of each size!! ALSO, you can use an arrow to kill them. You do NOT need to use the fishing line to get all of them. I rarely used the line and got the ach. to pop up after arrow kills. Probably a bug like everything else. Fix the game already. Add the damned things to reda's shop or put them in loot boxes. Disable the bad weather. Something. This 1-2 months per patch release is 100% total garbage. Should be hotfixing this nonsense with utmost priority.
So glad the floating boat in Vinland and Eivor's left-foot-forward glide were finally patched, because everyone from reddit to youtube comments was ready to throw the game disc in the paper shredder for how badly those broke the game.....
Now, how about fixing the damned ocean fish from despawning already? Big Flat, Mackerel, and Eel? Or what about fish falling off the map after killing them? 100+ bug fixes that make cyberpunk look polished, with many being so obscure most wouldn't even know they were in the game if it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, and yet the 10's of thousands of people not able to finish a basic settlement quest after almost 3 months is incredibly pathetic. Since it's clearly such a serious bug that it can't even be prioritized after nearly 3 months (probably closer to 4 or 5 months now factoring in how long of a gap between patches and will be spring by next patch release) is utterly embarrassing. Add the damned fish to Reda, or another npc for sale, put them in one of the 4,975 loot containers that have literal junk in them, or gift them to us; do something and stop dragging butt like a dog with worms too cheap to see a vet....
@chuckkatse You CAN place them gently, rotate them, etc.. Everything is there using a game pad. Try all buttons to figure out what you are missing.
When I saw this was a featured mini-game in literally EVERY city, I was dumbfounded. Not a drinker irl, and thankfully avoided the real-life consequences (for the most part) of what black out drinking entails, but WHY is it in the game, coupled with gambling to see who drinks the fastest and gets blackout drunk first?
Noticed a person on Twitter commented on a Zealot being disfigured with description for it being suggestive, and promptly learned what "abelism" was and saw it was going to be patched out. Ironically, I have a non-face impairment from a window accident years ago, and found the Zealot description endearing as it humanized her. And yet alcoholism and all the grief it brings (I knew a girl in HS killed because her friend was drunk and showing off in his then-new Mustang; killed her and another friend, permanently disfigured 4th friend with brain damage and wheel chair for life, 18 yr old driver ironically walk away unharmed and with 7 years in prison).
So when is drinking mini-game getting patched out with something more appropriate?
Autosaves appear to cause Eivor to freeze up. Other times, it locks the left stick out but right stick will work. This will halt movement with a soft-lock well after the autosave icon vanishes and requires smashing other buttons to move left stick again.
Request: Ability to disable auto saves (give a warning and people will accept it) other than quest start saves or directly control their frequency i.e. I do NOT need 5 autosaves, back to back to back to back to back to in the span of 5 minutes while walking through the settlement. Once every 15 minutes with at least one an hour old and another couple hours old, would be more helpful and probably help people plagued by a quest bug and oldest auto save was 6 minutes ago....HUGE performance hit from constant autosaves and at times you do NOT want it. Worse yet is it'll overwrite and people NOT doing manual saves are royally ruined.
Kinda sad only @SouldrinkerLP "got it."
To reiterate, a person on Twitter with a partially obstructed profile pic, complained about a Zealot's description, and it was promptly responded to with an apology, and a promise to "patch it out." Personally, I found it infuriating as every one person that complains, probably 100k are OK with it or don't care. Drinking, especially as a "game" where amount consumed, quickly and betting is involved, is actually very dangerous and causes WAY more harm than a Zealot description, but it's not going to get patched out. Why?
To those that didn't get the 1st post, re-read it then read @SouldrinkerLP and my follow up. Then re-read what you posted.
Ran into this bug the other day. The Bear will be ABOVE Uriconium Ruins just outside the entrance to the enemy camp. Bear will NOT react to the player. Killing the bear will net you the 2 skill points, but no head.
**Workaround:
After killing the bear, go into Uriconium Ruins all the way to the end. Go under the wall through the hole to it's "lair" and it'll update as having been killed. IF you already killed it and now are stuck with it on your autosave, entering the lair should fix it.
I did this and was able to complete the last Hunter's Hut Legendary quest and got the reward vs. waiting who knows how long for it to get fixed.
P.S. Super easy kill. Manual Save before fighting to be safe. If for some reason it doesn't update once in lair AFTER killing it above, reload the save, and use a knock back attack (Dive of Valkeries or similar) and remove your weapons from both hands if high level and knock it back towards the lair above ground. If need be, go lair, pin mark on map above your marker, then go and knock it back to that area. Kill it (2 skill points will pop up), then enter lair (head and quest complete).
STOP using the stupid fishing line already. Gigantic waste of time and stupid mechanics (1/2" fishing rope won't break from a 0.5 pound perch but modern nylon might; hand pulling rope does NOT make a modern fishing reel sound effect; a 5" trout won't fight you like a 10 pound shark for 10 minutes, etc.) JUMP in the water and sprint/lunge at the fish while using attack. If timed right, your hatchet will get fish. Quickly spam the loot button then move on. Use Odin sight repeatedly and swim towards where the last school went. Slowly work way towards ocean from river inlets then head back towards river inlet if things vanish then repeat. All the areas I mentioned earlier, are where I did just that. If you want the achievement, follow my advice. And as inferred before, seals on the coast of a tiny island are a good area to go to but stay under the water and get stuff while trying to avoid getting all seals to plop in the water or they'll despawn too.
(F)orget the game and lazy patches. Don't let it suck more life out of you through incredibly cheap "player retention" tactics by forcing YOU to wait on patches to release.
@onecanspam ANY time you need to carry or move someone, be very careful to avoid any wild animals. Not 100% certain, but what appears to happen is at least one of them stays in conflict with you. If random npc then see you carrying the person, it appears they treat it like you are doing it to a non-hostile target and it'll bug the quest. Workaround is reload to a save BEFORE starting that quest (if you don't have manual saves at this point in this buggy game, that's on you) and do EVERYTHING possible to avoid ANY conflicts/alerts/being spotted. IF you have to carry the person into a house for example, take extra precaution to NOT be seen by random npc. Disgusting oversight by the devs.
Cairn challenges. Did YOU reassign ANY buttons on the controller? Is it showing ANY conflicts? While the game might "work" with button conflicts, it won't necessarily work ALL the time. Your button you are using for Validation, need to check if ANYTHING else is bound to same button and disable it, then try again. I personally ran into issues with the camera failing to pull up, and certain button hold presses; HATE long button presses and hate ubi for forcing them as they are obnoxious and weigh the game down, but also cause extra conflicts.
10 minute edits and unable to upload native PS4 4k pics....
Looking at my map now:
-Essexe I fished a lot around Port Walton and the very tiny island above it.
-Cent Fished heavily immediately east of Rouecistre Fortress (the inlet that borders it's east wall that looks like Florida, is FULL of flatfish just spam attack with spear or special attack dual daggers and clear all of them in minutes) until you reach the fast travel anchor. That area immediately east of Florida inlet is river/ocean transition. Swim and Odin sight, then melee. Only tiny fish are harder to melee due to speed. Stay under surface and fish are less likely to flee until after swinging your hatchet. Use lunge/sprint button and melee. If fish vanish, go back towards river-side of inlet and start over. Don't discriminate, just kill whatever fish appear, loot, and move on. Better chances of different fish spawning in and occasionally getting one you need.
***Essex/Cent border in river/ocean -Inlet immediately s/w of Maeldun cliff on shore. That river to ocean inlet too. This is a good place as fish from both areas AND river/ocean transition can occur in same spot. Fished heavily here.
-Essexe Might have done Turrim Larus Ruins area too if there were seals there.
-SouthSuthsexe, Seven Sisters fast travel anchor. Go west until almost slightly beyond Anderitum Hideout (it's n/w of Seven Sisters on map) then look south. There's a smaller island there with I think a wrecked ship. Might be loot, I forget. I was catching Big Bream there on northern tip (barely).
**Rivers/lakes farms
-Glowecestrescire Cragstone Watchtower jump into the lake below
-Hamptunscire Hourglass-shaped lake right below (s/w) Readingum Abbey also Reindeer around there.
-Grantbridgescire Grantbridge has a moat that surrounds almost the entire city. LOTS of harder to find fish there including eels. Odin sight and check ALL water areas here.
-Cent Immediately north of Beamasfield right below the Medeuuage circle is a small, shallow lake. Tons of Pollock fish.
-Cent ALL around Canterbury border
ANYTHING with knee-high water can be cleared quickly and many locations have numerous species in same tiny lake making odds of getting everything greater and faster. Some lakes might only have one species though. That's mainly what I hit. Also, forget Folcanstan. Would be ideal spot for things like sturgeon but too unreliable.
Here's some screen shots of my fish inventory and Good Catch just to know I'm not lying. Also, I sold off a bunch of fish AND turned many in already. Only fish yet to actually find are Big Flatfish, Big Mackerel, and Big Eel. Only know about big eel from forums. Also, "regular" flatfish and a very large icon for them, on-par with large fish in general, but are regular on mine.

I haven't played for awhile now until patches get better, but I found somewhat better luck by fishing off/near uninhabited islands like ones the seals spawn on on the east coast and empty island south/southeast (not south west) and tried my best to stay right at the transition from river to sea but focussed on melee swimming under water or knee-high water instead of using the fishing line. As far as I'm aware, despawning was happening the entire time, but right AT the river/ocean transition, there was always normal fish that would often respawn more reliably (big/rare variants not so much, but NOT needed for achievement nor is fishing line despite what description states atm). Also, inlets are good area to hang around too assuming they are spawning as game considers the area a river or a lake.
Anything that also spawns in rivers should be the priority location.
TBPH, once realizing the fish spawns were bugged, and thinking you had to use a line + get every size, I didn't try for ach., however was hoping to get settlement quest so anything knee-high (lake, river, inlet, i.e. anything shallow) just farmed stuff as it was super quick to lunge while using 2 daggers. Was in a lake farming and fired an arrow, and it popped the achievement. Did a double take at the time I thought it'd be impossible to bother with that. Haven't checked my game in awhile, but I had TONS of everything. Only things that were really rare were cod. Bream, sturgeon, etc., will spawn even if broken.
Check your wiring connectors on the PC, including everything connected to the gpu on mobo. Make SURE gpu has all power connections needed. GPU's have been getting heavy for awhile now, so make SURE it's not sagging if side mounted. I got into the habit of fabricating a small wooden prop rod cut from a dowel rod to keep gpu straight. Given how hot they get anymore + drooping, it can put a bunch of stress on the pci express connector. I've personally run into issues with loose connections like what the power switch header connects to. Also, if using old wiring, psu issues, etc.. Who knows. Try and rule out hardware first.
Chances are something might be loose. Would help to know if windows is logging anything or not. If it's a gpu driver or similar, it should have a log of it crashing.
There's a point of no return in the main quest that'll block progression with that quest giver. It's a junk minor side quest that was supposed to give you a location of the Legendary Animal in the region which you can find by just being in the area on your own. The antlers were also a high price that early on to pay as they could be difficult to find, but do spawn near Seer's Hut. Once in England, there's a legit spawn place that'll have like 10-15 Reindeer at a time.
Truly a pointless quest with poor implementation. I believe the quest giver ends up in the longhouse during a cutscene on main quest before leaving for England, but she never returns to her hut nor leaves with you. Just ignore the quest and move on.
@ratchit66 I got all the fish w/o even trying, although I farmed a ton of shallow lake and river fish with melee and arrows. Suggest posting which fish it is you don't have then go to a known location. ONLY need one of each type, not one of each size.
@violence1337 Would appear it got ignored or they would have mentioned it as it's on the "known issues" list still.
And to people claiming it's "hard" for them to find the bugs and fix them, this isn't some 5 man team on kickstarter pushing out a Pong clone. It's a billion dollar company with thousands of employees that already took your money for a highly broken game that's taken nearly 3 months to fix things that should have been working on day 1. And they also took your season pass money, your money for cosmetic add-ons, + all the money from previous games. If a handful of guys doing unofficial patches for other games, for FREE can fix stuff faster than a dedicated team drawing an income, something is wrong.
So glad the floating boat in Vinland and Eivor's left-foot-forward glide were finally patched, because everyone from reddit to youtube comments was ready to throw the game disc in the paper shredder for how badly those broke the game.....
