It took me an hour but I managed to glitch through it. This bug made the game unplayable for me as I was unable to advance in any questline. I've been enjoying the game but this specific bug, how glaring it is, how long standing it is, has caused me to turn folks away from the game because it's simply not worth trying to enjoy at this point.
The trick for me was to walk forward, crouch, and grab the rack until I glitched inside it, then press dodge to make it into the room.
This doesn't even seem like a difficult fix for Ubisoft, as a stopgap just patch the rack out of the game entirely. It adds nothing.
Every new Ubisoft release I tell myself I will wait until it's playable and I never do. The worst part about this bug specifically it is got me so upset that I just have no desire to play the game anymore. I glitched through the shelf and turned it off now I think I'm just waiting for Cyberpunk.
Ubisoft Connect seems to be fighting with the software I use to control my fan hub (Corsair ICUE). Every time I open Ubisoft Connect my PC stutters and freezes. Furthermore, it sometimes causes my fans to stop working entirely until I restart my system. Mostly is just freezes and intermittently disables all my USB ports. No idea what's causing this.
Here's what I've tried:
Setting either program to high priority in task manager
Running each program in admin mode
Making sure windows, ubisoft connect, gpu/cpu chipset drivers, and icue are all up to date.
Installing ubisoft connect on another drive (This makes ubisoft connect not work at all. It will open, I log in, but it just loads indefinitely and no buttons work. Tried a non-windows partition on my maid drive and then a separate drive altogether, same on both)
Turn off all overlays/background programs
Specs
CPU: Ryzen 3800X (no OC)
GPU: RTX 3080 (no OC)
Storage: PCIe 4th Gen NMVE (x2)
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
Mobo: Asus ROG STRIX B550-A Gaming
OS: Win 11 (up-to-date)
Anyways, I canceled my Ubisoft+ until it gets worked out. Absolutely shouldn't be happening. Didn't think it was possible to make a worse game client than EA Origin but you folks nailed it.

@mwo1480 That sounds like an issue with memory not unloading properly. You could try setting the program to high-priority in Task Manager, which has been known to fix that issue for some games in the past, but odd are you'll be waiting for a patch.
Just out of curiosity for your system RAM do you have an XMP profile enabled, or if not, do you need one? I can't see that being the cause of your issues but computers are basically magic and nonsense so sometimes it's the weirdest thing causing you problems.
Other than that I guess the only thing to recommend would be a clean install of windows but that is a nightmarish undertaking.
Hello,
I'm encountering a frequent error message that urges me to restart the game. It states that Ubisoft Connect has stopped working It pops up if I alt-tab out of the game, or change any graphical settings, and sometimes when I open the world map or menu.
If I close the error message and close the game I see that Ubisoft Connect is no longer open. I have ruled out my internet connection as an issue.
I downloaded the game via a Ubisoft+ subscription.
Thanks!

Have you respec'd your skill points and removed the one early in the blue tree that gives you this ability?
Good luck!
@mwo1480 Have your turned anti-aliasing to med/low? For high res like 2k and 4k you don't need AA and this game is pretty crisp, regardless. Other than that, set shadows and clouds to High/Very High. That should net you a solid 60fps. It can help, too, sometimes to add in a frame cap using riva tuner or something.
The myth of playable 4k/Ultra/60fps is honestly just that, a myth. For the most part Ultra settings expend large amounts of GPU resources to provide significant improvement to insignificant things. A good example in most modern AAA games is shadows. Often the main difference between high and ultra will be shadow resolution. While playing a game there is a next to 0% chance you will notice the difference between 2k res shadows and 4k res shadows, yet the GPU resources needed to give you that extra visual fidelity can be 5-10% (again just an average). Would it be nice? Sure. Does it genuinely enhance the experience in any way? No.
I don't want to go as far as to say 4k/Ultra/60fps should never be attainable on up to date hardware, but for the most part these features aren't going to receive any sort of optimization until until entry or mid level machines can start using them so that translates to devs essentially just turning a big dial that says GRAPHICS all the way up and calling it Ultra, and not providing any sort of method to reduce the resource load. Take RTX. In it's current state it's next to fully unusable, BUT now you can buy a $500 Xbox that does ray-tracing. Now there's real incentive for devs to come up with methods to make it look good for less resource costs. What were Ultra settings 2 years ago are now baseline.
Long ramble but the point is, a modern AAA game on high/very high settings will look functionally the same as one set to Ultra unless you decide to start zooming in on screenshots so having Ultra as your baseline target for EVERY setting is gonna leave you disappointed 100% of the time.
@jezzryn Good luck! Honestly, let me know.
Also try a different port in your GPU too sometimes they can get a bit screwy after a while.
@jezzryn That sucks!
Maybe a dumb suggestion but have you ruled out the display port/hdmi cable by trying it with a different one, or in a different slot on the GPU and Display?
Other than that, and it's an extreme longshot, but check the BIOS and make sure the PCIe slot config is set to auto and isn't configured to something specific that may be causing issues. Does it happen at all with any other games?
The only other thing I can think of is failing power supply or possibly SSD.
It's a weird one for sure.
The fix for this is to DISABLE sharpening in the NVIDIA Control Panel. I actually had to disable it globally AND uncheck 'GPU Scaling'. Also if you have set texture filtering to PERMORMANCE put it back to QUALITY. This game simply does not play well with the nvidia control panel so basically anything other than vsync causes issues.
Further to that, remove any frame cap set in the control panel as well. To get a smoother frame-pacing experience I recommend using frame cap in RivaTuner Statistics Server and enabling Vsync in Nvidia control panel.
For those interested, here are my settings which give me a fully solid 60fps with perfect frame pacing (No micro-stutter).
MY PC Specs:
Ryzen 3800X (No OC)
Asus Rog Strix RTX 3080 (+70 core, +750 memory OC) NOTE: Approximately 1.5 FPS gains over stock clocks so not a concern
16 GB GSkills Trident 3600mhz CL14 memory
PCIE 4.0 M.2 NVME (Seagate Firecuda)
240mm CPU AIO Water Cooler
850W PSU
Nvidia Control Panel:
-Sharpening: OFF
-Power Mode: HIGH PERFORMANCE
-Low Latency: ULTRA
-Vsync: ON
OPTIONAL: Enabling Anisotropic Filtering 16X in the Nvidia Control panel looks better on flat textures but I get a slight, but noticeable flicker when I do it. Either way enabling or disabling will not impact performance in any measurable way vs in-game settings.
Windows:
-Full Screen Optimization: DISABLED (Find .exe file, right click -> Properties -> Compatibility -> check 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations -> hit 'Apply')
-Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling: ENABLED
NOW RESTART YOUR PC BEFORE CONTINUING
RivaTuner Statistic Server (RTSS)
Set Frame Cap: 60
In-Game Display Settings:
Fullscreen
Resolution: 1836p
Frame Cap: OFF
In-Game Graphics Settings:
All MAXIMUM/ON except:
Anti-Aliasing: LOW
Shadows: HIGH
Volumetric Clouds: HIGH
Motion Blur: OFF
Depth of Field: LOW or OFF (Low sees a +0.5fps improvement on average over OFF)
NOW RESTART THE GAME EVEN IF IT DOESN'T TELL YOU IT NEEDS IT
With this setup I get a rock-solid 60fps that only ever dips during loading screen to cutscenes or sometimes autosaves.
These settings also work perfectly fine at true 4k but you will see somewhat infrequent dips to low 50s when a.) entering large cities, b.) charging the shoreline during a raid, c.) sometimes during dialogue cutscenes, d.) randomly if lots of character models are onscreen. Due to the RTSS cap of 60fps when you do get dips below that it will hitch pretty badly so I recommend sticking with 1836p, or if you simply must have 4k set the Rivatuner frame cap to 50fps and the turn off the frame-counter so you don't have to see it and just know that it's probably fine. Or disable the frame-cap and live with the stuttering. This post is more about getting solid frame-pacing at 60fps with the best possible settings than getting a playable true 4k experience.
Hope this helps out a few people.
