So, another bug. I have never used a forum so much in my life. I just upgraded my quiver again, it is now level 5. I wasnt aware that my lack of arrows was not normal until this time when I upgraded after looking at how many I can carry.
I assumed the last time that when I went to buy more arrows right after upgrade, that the upgrade itself was the reason my arrows were fully stocked. Just thought it came with the upgrade.

I use the bow alot. This is infuriating. Because I've played AC for so long, I still play the way assassins used to have to. Stealthy. Which sucks when you need to kill 30 but can only kill 12.

When I looked for a fix, I come across a plethora or articles that all say the same thing.... the bug came with Yule, and travel to vinland to fix....

I have not been to vinland,. I had to google what vinland was. I hate spoilers and avoid them as much as possible. Now I know that at some point I will travel to vinland.

I dont even see an option to travel to anywhere but Norway and England.

But given the time since this bug started to gain attention, I'm wondering how what the hell ubisoft is doing?
Did they all take a vacation for christmas and just say, "screw em, we will fix our mistakes after new years?".

The bugs in this game are more than I've ever seen. I have quests I cannot complete. I have timed events I cannot complete. I have glitches that prevent me from accessing certain things. And limitations on what I do have by bugs that make upgrades utterly useless. It took forever to find 2 of those fabrics for level 5 quiver. And my [censored] wasted it for nothing. Do I seriously need to consult a damn thread before everything I upgrade or do just to make sure I can actually do it?

This is ridiculous and even more so given that articles state, "this issue is high priority due to the limitations that effect the way some players play the game." ... "due to the high volume of reports, this bug is likely at the top of the list and are aware of it." Dated what, 3 weeks ago?

3 weeks? That's the top of your list? I cant do Asgard. I cant use a bow and play the way AC used to play before it was dumbed down for those not suited to RPGs and open world concepts.... I mean. [censored] is going on Ubisoft?

I'm about ready to demand a refund and just buy this [censored] on clearance in a year when they clean up their mess. Cant even enjoy the damn game, spend 1/3 of it looking up problems. So much so that this stupid site and forum is just open on my browser because I have to google it every few hours.

@ubiexcellent should I just get a refund and come back in 3 months when the game is actually playable? Because "future patch update".... it's been almost a month.... where is it? I didnt pay $120 for a game I cannot play. Between the arrows, the other bugs and 2 missions that are stuck where I cannot progress, what exactly is the point of it?

Fix the game or give us our money back. And we will be back when yall actually complete the game. Shouldnt have released it in the first place. An insult to gamers and AC fans alike, we wouldve gladly waited for a finished and complete game that works then to be forced a broken one that we cannot enjoy or beat.

We arent dumb, we know what's taking so long... that holiday break. That new years break. Why else would it take a month to tell us "we hope to fix these issues in a future patch update". Well holidays over, hop to it.

Tl;dr- More of a rant, no solution below, just mention of a pop up that says I have 2 days left to earn and use my Yule tokens when I assumed (incorrectly it seems), that the 13 day timer on the quests themselves meant I had 13 days to fix this issue.

Playing today, the quests say they have 13 days left. I was hoping that would be enough time to fix the bugs, but then I just got a popup randomly warning me that the Yule celebrations end in 2 days.

So.... I have 2 days and not 13 days to find a solution, get the tokens, and reap the rewards or otherwise lose all that time and effort for nothing.

I was okay with waiting. I think my love for the series has me bias when it comes to issues, but this has finally [censored] me off.
I know that the timing for Yule didn't exactly line up with the ingame timing, but yule lasts 12 days, starting the 21st.

If it werent for covid, I would be livid right now because I would not normally be gaming on christmas and likely wouldnt have seen this new 2 days time limit until after it ended and I was back home.

Not happy. Need to put that time limit on pause til yall fix your mistakes or otherwise credit the people who have spent hours trying to solve these issues, writing and discussing on forums, blogs, etc.

Been faithful to this franchise since the beginning, and so this really sucks. I am finding more and more articles about these issues online, and will test them I guess and hopefully figure out a solution in 2 days.

I posted a comment on this issue previously. I am not sure how to do a reply for that comment or show an update on it.

But the issue as far as I know with the arrows is now fixed. (I think). I am unsure if I have lost fabric from trying to upgrade previously because I only have it upgraded to 9 I think. It has 1 upgrade left but I havent enough to get that one yet.

So right now my arrows are showing 28/36/13.

Xbox series X version, updated today and it fixed it.

I havent checked all my issues yet to see if they are fixed but the extra skill tree things, there are 3 of them, I had 2 of them, then they vanished, and those arent back yet. But not nearly as big of a deal breaker as the arrows were.

My other big one was an asgard quest that would not complete. Havent checked that yet but I posted on that thread as well. I'm afraid to check to be honest.

I see that the update didnt fix everyone's, but it did fix mine so thank you. But can we not rush out the next AC? It may give you a christmas bonus this year, but you may be jobless come next.

Aside from that, the fact that this seems rushed likely means the teams that worked on this game were probably overworked and underpaid, and that's not fair to them either. And now they gotta put up with people like me who are b****ing about it.

Anyways, same for me, ones I've bought as well as ones from the flying paper challenges are missing. They were missing with svend and so I assumed that maybe i had to progress more but now with tovy, still not showing up.

The bugs in this game have surpassed ridiculous. I've played all ac games and this by far is the buggiest I've ever seen.

This issue is happening on all platforms too it seems. I'm on xbox series x. So reading comments I see that the platform makes no difference.

Feel like I'm gonna beat the damn game before I can get half of the [censored] to work.

I found another thread mentioning the issue where ubisoft said that the recent patch released fixed this problem but for me it has not. For you either. Ubisoft, what is going on? do we need to keep making a hundred threads before yall pay attention?

@ashleysosa44 file size limit, "Maximum File size, 2048kb..... (2mb). So I try to reduce file size right..... Well, now another error appears, "Image dimensions are too big".

So I manage to get screenshots of my in game screenshots via phone to bring the file size down to .94mb..... and now it isn't the size that matters, it's the "Dimensions". The shape...

I mean, clearly these need to be uploaded because it seems that something that takes 6 months to fix is obviously due to a lack of resources, but you sure don't make it easy, do you. On the multitude of previous posts and errors from the various bugs we were told to gather and provide the screenshots on it so they know what we are talking about.

So now I am going to be over cropping my screenshots, of my screenshots and keep fingers crossed that the resulting image that can be uploaded has enough pixels to be legible.
and maybe stack the video screen recordings to a youtube video. idk.

I have been documenting the other bugs as well so those are mixed in a bit. Like the gear resetting, fishing bugs, the straight up save data lost and missions resetting, undoing progress, other missions that were stuck but those were patched, etc... lots of bugs. Lots of screenshots and recordings of them.

But the videos are too large in file size to share even when cutting the 1 min videos resolution to the lowest setting I have available which is 720x480. Then cutting that 1 minute video to 6 parts of 10 seconds each...
The 10 second low res videos are STILL TOO BIG to post. (8mb)

So cut down further....
5 seconds low res video clip is STILL TOO BIG with a size of 4.45mb. (More than double the limit).

I'm not trying any further, since at 2 seconds it would take 30 clips to summarize just 1 single 1 minute video.
[30 1-minute vids cut down to 30 2-second clips = 900 video clips.

Why is it that multiple dlc's have been released WITHOUT the solving of these issues? I have done everything else you can do in this game, save for the river raids, and the fish, and animals that are still not spawning. I reached all of the spots in Asgard, collected all but one shard which isn't available of course, until AFTER the main Asgard quests. which are locked in a state of limbo. I have run around the map, trying all of these tricks to try and fix it, but nothing has worked. I have recorded this issue over and over again to show what happens, but this forum has a limit on on size. (go figure). Despite saving in Asgard upon waking up at another location outside of this quest, and with the quest not selected, everytime i do go back to Asgard, i go back to that bubble, that useless moron painting a rock, and a few giant blue smurfs coming at me while the majority of them stand around oblivious to my existance. They used to all attack me, but I think maybe the whole max leveling thing has made me less visable. idk.
If i run out of the bubble, I start to slowly die until i return to bubble. If i quickly fast travel after running out of the bubble, I still die slowly when I respawn. But, if I kill the giant smurfs and am no longer I guess triggering the enemy sight, I can fast travel to another location in Asgard without dying. What good that does. I can still see the bubble when I do this. and I can return to it as well. I have tried quite a bit to kill the stupid man painting the rock, but the ba****d is invincible and oblivious to his surroundings. I can get him to walk a short distance from the rock but calling in my glorious steed and standing in the builders spot. he walks away for a moment, then comes right back and attempts to wiggle his way back to his spot.

I have never wanted to kill a character more in my life than I do that stupid builder. (Negan doesn't seem so bad anymore). if he would just die, that would solve everything. but no.

This is beyond ridiculous. paid $120 for this crap and I can't even finish it near half a year later. Not only that, the stuff that came with my double costing purchase you giver to everyone, what exactly did I get for it then? other than a broken game, and oh btw, the gear, yeah, that disappears and reappears everytime I play. resets the runes, and the level as well. I believe the gear was called Berserker. Yeah, everytime I load the game, it says, "loading add ons". and it resets them. that's what I paid $60 extra for. Thanks.

4 or 5 days with no responses here. I documented the issue but seems that materia is not needed. I have some free time so before I am busy for the next weeks or so, I'm going to see if this happens for a 3rd time. My save file and loads are same as when I reported this. I'm going to continue from there but I am not going to go back and kill the drengr or any other mission of importance since it is likely to be lost. What I am going to do is minor stuff. And set a timer and save. And see what happens. Last time it was 7 hours lost. The time before it I wasnt even aware of it, game didnt crash so the resume game I did where I thought I had Deja vu with those missions were in fact lost progress. .
See what happens this time.

If nothing, I will try to go back to kill that drengr I mentioned and see if that ends up triggering this issue.

It is very disappointing that adding stuff was the priority when half of us cant even play the stupid thing to begin with. Or finish it. Stuck in limbo, it's been what 4 or 5 months?

If that is what it is when you dont play for 2 days but can resume game without startup, then yes. Except to do the Reda quests, I would restart game to refresh him or it says offline.

7 Hours.
But I am 211 hours in. Power level 402. So i fear losing more.

Yes, but he beat the game before I started playing. He beat it before yuletide, i started right before yuletide which we think is the cause. He also doesnt do 100% completion. Just main missions.
But has not himself played since before yuletide add.

Multiple times. This would be the 3rd time that I've noticed enough to realize it.

• What was the last quest, world event, or activity that you completed before your progress was lost?

I believe it was the drengr mission in Eurvicscire, the uppermost fast travel point which had the drengr at the same location as fast travel. After that I collected the wealth that had disappeared in Eurvicscire, documented it with screenshots and videos. Then went to southern coast to try and find big flatfish. Was at isle of wight (southwestern island), spent an hour there. No luck on big flatfish. Then I decided to move on and go do real missions.
I fast traveled, but it froze. I have screenshot of the screen frozen that shows it fading to black and then frozen. So that drengr I think was the last, but I did also video all my completed missions after redoing Eurvicscire missions as well as map. So it would show the last one that shows up there anyways.

Create new. Did manual saves throughout, but 7 hours worth had disappeared. Autosave also disappeared.

• Are you mainly relying on autosave or making regular manual saves?

Manual saves, I fill up the limit of 20 manual saves, then go from bottom and delete oldest saves when I run out of the 20 save capacity. Knowing this was an issue, I made it a habit to save manually.


I have images and videos as I stated in comment on here. But the file size limit is too small for even an image, let alone videos.
I've never made one but I could try compiling images and videos together into a video collage and posting to youtube and then posting link. But it make take a while, I have never done it before and would need to find an app for it.

As I stated in my statement, 211 hours, 402 power. I'm afraid to lose all my data and have not loaded since this happened. The time before when it happened, it did so without freezing. This time the game froze and the data for last 7 hours disappeared. That seems like the issue got worse so not even going to risk it. 7 hours I can live with. 211 hours..(8 days).... I would legit cry.

This was an issue I had previously. I am back here to say that I finally was able to do it.

I'm not sure if the update is what helped. But for probably the 5th time, I went back to that city, forget the name, started with a P... and walked around the entire thing. Like the times before, there are friendlies there, the mission does not show a map marker, nor does it mention task on mission itself on in game screen. (Top left where the mission name is, below the name is the task... this mission is the only one that was blank under the name.).

I had went on and did 2 other areas, checking back with what's her face each time to see if I could trigger it to work.
It never did initially.

But the last time I went back and walked around the castle, after a good 10 minutes or so running through everything, every part, it out of nowhere triggered the spawn of the mission. I dont know if it was the area of the castle I was at, but I believe I had ran over every part a couple times, so it could be. It could he how long I was there. I really dont know. I was just screwing around. Probably shooting arrows randomly as well. I believe I even walked onto fire to see if injury would trigger it. So I cant say what exactly it was.

When the mission finally respawned I believe it may have skipped over some of the expected fighting parts. Idk why. I entered a dialogue and then was told to make my way home where my brother was going. And I saved like crazy and went home and it worked fine. Was able to finish this mission.

All I can really suggest is that. Go to that castle city, (I forget the names but starts with a P I think, I know where it's at on a map if I need to point it out cause I kept trying it).
And just spend 10 to 20 minutes just walking around, doing random things that could trigger the game to respond.
I am sorry that this advice is vague, I had done the same thing several times before and really was not expecting it to work. So didnt sit here documenting each redundant thing I did. It came out nowhere, just started up like it had been there the whole time.

I have pics and videos but this forum says maximum file size is like kb level low.... my images are like 8mb. Videos are like 60mb. I could I guess load them into a single video collage thing and add to youtube then share link....
