same problem here.
Nothing happen after you pick the paint. Quest will not progress before/after you pick the paint.

update.
After returning to Asgard the whole quest does not trigger. It is stucked at point where im prompted to drink the potion to return to asgard but when i drink it and retzrn to asgard quest swill show drink the potion.,

over 5 days since it was reported originally and still no solutiuon ?!

not ok.
I have finished chalenges or quest where i was underleveled by 200+ skill points.
Defeated 280 zealot being lvl 20.
Learn the patern of his attacks, only atack when safe to do so.
Fighting overleveled boss will take much longer than few minutes even if you play on easy.
Patience is the key.
