I didn't hear anything from Ubi for ten days. They asked me to verify my email so they could make changes to my account. I verified it within 1 hour of their reply. It took another three days before they asked me about which save slot was affected, when the last time I was able to access my character and if I give them permission to proceed. It would have been nice if they asked for everything all at once so they could just fix it before any backups of my character are gone forever. They already covered themselves saying that it's not a "100% guarantee" that they can recover my character. I don't understand what is so difficult about going to a backup and replacing a save file. As an IT professional back in the 90s/2000s we understood the importance of regular backups and keeping them for months or sometimes years because of the amount of time people have put into the files we were backing up. It's no different here especially when the save slot being overwritten is a fault of Ubisoft, not the end user.
@Ubi-MrM Per the article: "From 4 January 2023, our live chat will open at 10:00 and close at 12:00"
What time zone? AM or PM?
@Ubi-MrM As someone else who has lost a lvl 99, 400+ hour character due to Ubisoft's negligence, the way Ubisoft is handling this "solution" is criminal. I immediately put in a support ticket request and have been asking for updates almost every day and there's no response from Ubisoft. That was back on March 5th and no answer or update. Unacceptable. Does Ubisoft not keep backups of all the characters that we're FORCED to store on Ubisoft's cloud? It should be as simple as going to a prior backup and replacing the "new" character file with the old one and as every day passes it's more and more likely that whatever backups, if any, are going to be overwritten with the new character making it permanent. It downright disgusting that Ubisoft allowed this to happen, especially when the overwhelming majority of players use save slot 1 for their primary character. I have over 20 games in my Ubisoft Connect and if this is how Ubisoft treats their customer base I will never buy a Ubisoft product ever again. What is the solution here? Wait until the support team finally replies and says "sorry, there's nothing we can do?" BTW your "live chat" is a joke. I checked for it from 6am-6pm, every time zone from Atlantic to Pacific and it is never open.
@walkintarget1 I've seen my fair share of DZ cheats. Wall hackers, aimbots, etc. but never have I even heard of a cheat that bypasses the shield. Considering just about everyone runs a shield it's a huge exploit that needs to be fixed.
Have you guys seen this new build? Apparently if you have all red cores with unoptimized gear and a watch SHD lvl of 396 you can bypass a 16,000,000+ HP shield and all the damage goes right to armor/health! Here's proof:

How/Where do I report this cheater?
@adrian-11 Same exact problem here. I never had a single crash until this season came along and they did the server maintenance. Everyone I play with has the same problem.
10 seconds without a hit and all the stacks are lost is incredibly frustrating to play. Give it 20 seconds. Have 10 stacks drop off every 5 seconds without a hit. Anything but the current model because it takes 90-120 stacks just to make similar dmg with a comparable build that can swap the hazard/bleed resistance with crit dmg. Playing in a group and trying to get stacks is laughable when everyone else can out DPS you. It could be a really fun build (similar to D1's Classified Striker) but as it stands NO ONE uses it. It's completely useless in DZ PvP because by the time stacks are built you're already dead for the simple fact that any crit build can out DPS it without worrying about building stacks and losing them. When doing CPs or DZ landmarks maybe I'll get lucky where the NPCs spawn and can keep the stacks going but in most cases I lose the stacks and have to start over. Then if I'm able to get 120+ stacks and actually do some net positive dmg most of the NPCs are already dead and I can only annihilate the remaining few. So much potential wasted because of a poorly designed mechanic.
