When I go to talk to the old and she initiates the fight and the quest then cuts out, making me unable to fight her or take to her

The quest log tells me to continue the main story, which I have already completed, and I'm max level.

So, Hildrian settled in, the dialogue happens, she offers to fight, Eivor attacks, falls into dirt– the cutscene ends, and Hildrian walks back to the shrine. No options to fight her ever appear.

If Eivor talks to her again, the cutscene repeats with the same result.

I was really excited about the new title update but am really disappointed I can't seem to go on with Challenge of the Gods. I'm stuck at the part right after Hildiran's built her house, and the next step in the quest is simply 'Talk to Hildiran'. This is where you're supposed to fight her, from what I've seen of walkthrough videos. But, what happens for me is I throw the first punch, she knocks me down, and then the cut scene never starts. I go right back to the normal gameplay, still with the 'Talk to Hildiran' objective, and she's still highlighted as the quest objective. So I'm stuck in this loop.

Basic specs : i7-8700, 3080, 32G RAM, 3440x1440p monitor.

Would love to see this resolved, cheers!

Yesterday's update added the new Mastery Challenge to my game, but I'm not able to start them.

I reached Ravensthorpe, I saw the meteor's cutscene, talked with the misterious old woman and built her new building. After that, I tried to interact with her, which triggered a new dialogue in where she says that she needs to fight with Eivor.

At that point, after that Eivor gets knocked out by her (during the cutscene), the quest stops: the quest log says that I need to "progress with the main storyline", which I already finished months ago. I tried to reload a previous save, but nothing changes: the lady stands next to the statue outside her house, and I can't interact with her.

What should I do?

Thanks so much for your (speedy!) response. So after I verified the game files as per the link you provided, something even stranger happened - I can now not talk to Hildiran at all. When I select the 'Challenge of the Gods' quest in my Quest menu, all I get is a 'Progress through the main story' prompt. The quest marker is gone. Hildiran is still physically in Ravensthorpe but I can't interact with her.

Thing is, I'm at power level 348, and I've just completed the Glowecestershire arc - so well beyond the two requirements for the Challenge as I understand them.

So, I guess I can't show you a video of what I was talking about earlier. But I'd still welcome ideas.

i cant continue with the new challenge quest ,after i talked to the old women and she throws me to the ground i cant fight her back she just goes back to her spot cant talk cant fight her. the questlog says i have to continue the main quest... iam level 420 and have completed Legracaesterscir-Saga and Grantabrycgscir-Saga ...is this a bug??

@mattricc2 same here... i am not done with the story but very far and level 420 i guess its a bug?

me too.I only left three shires to finish, and my power has reach 430.
and I can't play the challenge.

Me too, when eivor is suposed to fight the old lady, it just stop, and the lady appears at the statue an thats it, i finnished main story weeks ago, and Im level 405

@corvosilver same issue here. Tried to reload a previous save game but nothing changed.

@caragx I even completed Gunnar's wedding, and the DLC.

does anyone here has this problem?
when i start the mastery challenges questline, i can't go fight with hildiran after i spoke to her at the crash site, but i am over power 300 wich should be enough and i have done the uninvited guests main quest, so i should be able to start it but because of this i can't start the fight wich should be happening, i already searched on google for this glitch but i can't find enything about this glitch. because of this i know you have to fight her but i just can't.

@mattricc2 Me too, in fact the requirements i have found are to finnish uninvited guest quest, i finnished of ourse or you cannt advance and be level 221
