In my opinion, Assassin's Creed Valhalla desperately needs difficulty scaling, an option that was present in the previous game. The regions tend to be progressively more difficult and so the enemies, however each time I find myself being far more stronger than my enemies in the different missions without even exploring or doing that much side quests beforehand. Thus, the regular enemies are often too frail and die within 5 blows, which makes the game lose a lot in immersion and experience of gameplay and the story, apart from certain bosses that seem to be scaled to the player's level. The only solution that I found was to avoid getting more skills or even remove some to have a more fitting experience. Alas, currently playing the Irish extension, I must explore a country of level 55 with my level 415 Eivor, and removing 400 skills and perks at the same time would be too much of a downgrade, I want to be able to fight a proper enemy with the perks and tools that I want.Other than that, I appreciate the game so far and I imagine that I'm not the only one complaining about this but could you tell me if something is being done about this or if you are taking this issue in consideration. Thank you in advance for your answer.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Disagree. I like the game as it is. Everyone has their own tastes. Remember, not everyone is maxed out like you are. I hated Odyssey and the concept of level scaling. What's the point of leveling if all the mobs level with you? Yeah, you always get more difficult fights, but not everyone wants nothing but constant difficult fights. Try to see the game through the eyes of someone else.
@fortyniners354 In Odyssey it was an option you could turn on, off or adjust. There's no excuse for not offering the same flexibility in this game so everyone can be happy.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla desperately needs difficulty scaling.

As an option, yes I agree.
I would definitely make use of it at this point in the game because unless they send Terminator 7 after me, I can't see Ubisoft releasing anything that is going to kill me, judging by the Druids expansion. And I did die once in that expansion, but it was by accident. I didn't eat one of my six rations in time.
I know how hard these games can be for people. I've suffered through many encounters myself trying to build up Eivor's strength, and that's all part of the fun, but I'm handicapping myself intentionally. Rather than not use abilities at all, I'd rather just click on a level-scaling button. Though, even that may not help much as those abilities are insanely overpowered. The general enemy AI is also part of the problem. Some of the bosses are fine, though.
Can't remember the last game that I played that had level-scaling, but I do remember making use of it.
Ah, yes, ElMadre, it may have been Odyssey. I know that I used it in that game because it made Bounty Hunters a pain in the butt. I'd often take on four of those guys at the same time and it was intense combat.
Wooooweeee....
Yes please,am getting bored and don't play anymore because there's no challenge at all.
@elmadre1 Actually, no, you couldn't turn it off in Odyssey, which is one thing I hated about Odyssey.
Personally, I hate the idea of enemy level scaling. Seriously, what is the point of leveling up and becoming more powerful if all the enemies are doing exactly the same thing?
If I want to be so strong that I can take down enemies in one or two swings of my axe, then let me.
What I want is the option to completely turn OFF level scaling altogether.
@elmadre1 you're probably thinking about Origins, Origins had level scaling aswell but it was an option and was off by default. In Odyssey you couldn't turn level scaling off, although they added some options (light, normal, heavy, and maybe 4th aswell) but I still hated that game design choice. It's a single player game, if I want to feel OP and destroy enemies from the first island with one hit, I should be able to. Odyssey's scaling didn't necessarily make the game harder, only longer because all the enemies were suddenly damage sponges. I still haven't finished the Atlantis DLC because of Madusa...
I would not mind a zone where level scaling was optional, but I would not like it to be implemented as part of the entire game. As I said earlier, there doesn't seem to be any point in leveling if all the mobs level with you. If you make it optional for the entire game then anyone who wants to turn if off will feel like a second-class citizen. I know I would.
@syrjaelae86 I agree with @C-Pick and you, not everyone wants scaling difficulty and on the contrary wishes to obliterate regular enemies. I thought Odyssey's scaling option was.. well... optionnal, apparently I was wrong, my bad. Obviously, if scaling difficulty was a thing, it should stay as an option to satisfy all players. In the recent games, the map is organized in regions with growing difficulty between them, which enables the player to level up with the area he's in, and then be able to destroy enemies in previous regions that he's now clearly above. But in Ireland, all the regions have the same 55 level and I imagine that most players who bought the extansion already finished the regular game and was at least level 300ish. As for the fact that regular enemies takes too many hits to die, I'd say it depends on the ennemy. After some time in the druids expansion, I decided to handicap myself by removing skills and get back to level 320 approximately. And despite being around 40 levels below the mission's level recommendation and in Drengr difficulty, only the toughest regular enemies needed around 10-15, while the others needed between 5-10, especially for the irish enemies (bandits and druids were a little tougher). I succeeded to finish the expansion's story while being level 320ish, and it was the right difficulty for me, I'd say I died between 10 and 20 times. I even succeeded to kill bosses that were level 450ish still in Drengr and same level (for those it was definitely a challenge but completely possible. Let's say that enemy scaling existed (and was an option), I'm sure the difficulty would be around the same as my playthrough without having to lower your level and removing perks (I chose those which I used the least but still). And with level scaling, I think that normal difficulty options (Viking, Drengr...) would make a lot more sense and help moderate the ennemy level which would be based on your level by default. If you do not agree, feel free to tell me.
@storm35410 Yes! Absolutely the game is so unbelievable easy! You are overleveld after the 3 LV90 areas anyways. The game is a walking simulator. I stopped playing it because it is so boring when you one shot every not boss enemy.
The balance in Valhalla is not existing. Odyssee was lightyears ahead.
@mentraton
In addition I even have ruined the Druids DLC for myself because I had 55 unspent skillponts to lover my level but the DLC did only count the spent and not the total points (in contrast to river raid) and now the questlevel is 55 points too low with now way to fix that. It only increases by 2 each levelup.
Yup. I’d like a way to limit enemies to be no lower than at least 2 levels above me and relatively higher depending on the difficulty of the area (seen as a percentage), so some area would always remain a challenge.
Obviously not for easy, normal and hard modes, but nightmare should be, well, you know, the name says it.
