I don't know what Ubisoft is thinking with this armor set. It completely gets away from the tthe Assassians Creed Valhalla Vikings Theme. This is more of a raiders from Space set from the future that has traveled back in time to the Vikings era of Norway and Europe. Even the Modern Day Ship Pack has a Cannon in front of the ship. Beam Me Up Scottie.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Beam Me Up Scottie.

    ---

    Don't use it?

I don't use any of that crap. That way it's like it doesn't even exist.

Just don't buy it and don't use it...

    ======

There's plenty of silly looking outfits/naval packs which were in the game since day 1, the Unicorn naval pack is the most infamous example IMHO.

And the modern day armour can be explained with the same reason which they used to justify its presence in Odyssey, or the presence of the Final Fantasy items in Origins:
The Animus that is used in these games is slightly different, allowing a user who's not from the lineage of an assassin to re-live his memories, it simply requires a bit of DNA from the assassin in question... But it has a flaw, it lets some of the things in the user's mind "bleed" into his perceptions of the past.

Hence why Layla, a fan of Final Fantasy (given the sticker on her car and the action figure on her desk in Origins) imagined seeing the weapons and mount, while the historical truth was different... Hence why, after being attacked by Abstergo troops in Odyssey, Layla could have this appearance "bleed" into her vision of the events, even if it's not true to the ancient events...
And the same explanation remains true in Valhalla...

I'm not saying this explanation makes a lot of sense, but the appearance of modern day "inspired" weapons and mounts is in no way new to Valhalla.

In truth, I believe it's just a lame attempt to justify throwing in the game stuff that doesn't belong there, but it's been going on for the last 3 games and if they continue doing it it's most likely because a part of the player base buys and uses these.

@chuckkatse It's ridiculous, ask for original chainmail an 1h swords and you get this!
Next will be Star Wars armors and a light saber!
As suggested before, lure children in the helix store.

I do not disagree with the time-period relevance as it appears but they have been consistent with the Abstergo gear in each incarnation of AC for a while now.
In a way, being the Animus and all that, it is relevant just not time-period-centric. As others suggested, do not buy it if you do not like it.

"don't buy it" is not the answer.

This Is a big problem because Ubisoft put a lot effort in a useless and stupid things like this, instead of work on new REAL content like new moveset for weapon, new 1 HANDED SWORD, polishing this clunky combat and animation, polishing hitbox that are terrible with animal and zelot, increase difficulty with new pattern and enemy ecc ecc.
But no, Ubisoft work and put effort on this armor, shiepd, guns, and let the gameplay be even worst .

    Shame on you Ubisoft.

While don't buy it normally works, I get why people are annoyed in this instance, if they hired someone's Jomsviking and it ends up donning said gear.

obviously, as soon as I saw it I thought (luckily they didn't give it to me free, that's what could take up useless space in my inventory ..)

on the fact not to buy and keep quiet, this time, I disagree.

if it is true that good players make games to better
player opinions this time matters a lot:

This gear is what it's like to draw a D**K in a church....
