Now that the DLC is out I'd like to remind everyone that stealth is still unusable in Valhalla.
Ubisoft has done nothing to adress this issue, it's not even on their known issues list, so we can assume they just don't care. Detection speed is still highly inconsistent and gives players not enough time to react. The clap of Eivor's asscheeks still alerts nearby guards for no reason. Controlled descent (holding the crouch button) is loud enough for enemies to notice you. Parcour is too sluggish and inpercise to be effectively used for positioning in stealth scenarios. Ubisoft wants us all to play as epic Viking raiders so they force stealth players into open combat, which completly defeats the point of having an RPG system in the first place.
This is completely unaceptable. Valhalla's stealth is the worst in the series and it's an embarassement for this to even be possible after Odyssey.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

I agree with you, the stealth in this game is wonky and just not fun at all. As someone who much prefers action and direct confrontations, Origins and Odyssey's stealth gameplay was so good that I would often choose to sneak into forts on my own accord and stealth kill everyone. It was challenging without it being frustrating, and the experience itself was very rewarding. In Valhalla, the stealth is so broken that I haven't even bothered with it anymore. Enemies can instantly detect you a mile away in a split second, have eyes at the back of their head, see through walls sometimes and even spot me while their sleeping.
Like you said, Valhalla definitely has the worst stealth (and parkour) in the series.
Either you get detected instantly, even through walls, or you can walk basically in front of a person without them noticing, or someone sees you, walks down a ladder and has then forgotten where you were. It's weird.
@xtracker85 Lol yes the guard is sleeping you get detected and he doesn't wake up,happen a couple time, getting detected in some weird angle, trough wall and the archers can track you trough wall when you are detected.
You can go to a city door with the two big guard, assassinate one from behind and chain assassinate the other one without being detected, the stealth in this game is broken.
stealth is still unusable

I've stealth-killed 1,354 enemies so far. So, it can't be that bad. I have no problems not getting detected. It just takes longer to play the game that way and I'm not always in the mood for it.
Stealth is also no longer Ubisoft Montreal's primary focus. As you can see, they are handing out heavy armour, shields, and flails to everyone.
Clink, clank, clink, clank.
Everyone was crying for shields. Well, they got their damn shields.
You can't please everyone all the time. As soon as you make one group happy, the other side starts crying.
@katzenkrimis71 While you cannot please everyone, being able to play properly as an assassin in an assassin game ought to be a viable option.
