    Posting this since I haven't seen it anywhere else. IDK if this is intended design, but a great number of the travelers (Question mark NPC's) that I've encountered are strangely located and completely idle. A most outstanding example of this is that they are often standing still in the middle of the river where the road crosses a shallow area when I am sailing through. Also recently, 3 were clustered within a few yards of each other, all completely still, in the middle of Glowecestre.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    @ubi-mark I don't have video recording software installed but here are screenshots with two outstanding examples. I recall there being a third Traveler in the vicinity Glowecestre during the story arc when it is more crowded.

    Apparently (resized) 1920x1080 screenshots are too large to be uploaded to your support forum so I've uploaded them to imgur: https://imgur.com/a/OTbqfkO

    @tallyl So sorry for my delay in getting back to you, but thank you for providing these images! Their placement certainly seems odd. Are you able to interact with these NPCs?

    Good day to you SpirantCrayon22! Thanks for letting me know that you are also seeing these NPCs standing in the middle of a river. Were you saying 'yes' to confirm that you are able to interact with these NPCs? Also, would you be able to provide any images or a short video from your gameplay that shows where these NPCs are located in your game?

    @ubikobold

    There are three stuck in the middle of the ford at Earningstone. I don't think any of the question-mark blokes move any longer, they all stand where they were when whatever-it-was-that-happened happened.

    Hello there @SpirantCrayon22!

    Thanks for letting us know more information about where these NPCs are located. I took a look around Earningstone, but wasn't able to find any NPCs stuck in the middle of the river. Would you able to send us some images which show where exactly these stuck NPCs are? A shot of your map as well as the NPCS stuck in the river would be great! We can then take a closer look at this.

    Thanks!

    My advice here is for you to find a question-mark guy in your game, you'll find he's not moving. If yours are moving then I'll post a picture, do let me know.

    Hello again @SpirantCrayon22,

    The nearest question-mark NPC around Earningstone was walking along the road as normal for me. I was able to find a stationary one elsewhere in England. I've captured a video and passed this along to the development team for a closer look.

    Would you be able to let us know the following information:

    • When interacting with the question-mark NPCs, do they have any new information for you? Or do they ask you to return later?
    • Have you only noticed this around Earningstone, or do all question-mark NPCs seem to be stationary for you?

    Thanks!

    @ubi-borealis

    Hello, thanks for responding. Regarding your questions . . .

    It is a long time since I asked these guys for any information. I have the treasure map and was thorough about finding everything so there isn't anything for them to offer (same as whatshisname in Ravensthorpe). Last time I looked some options were grey, some were white, but they never offered anything even then. I'll try and remember to talk to one next time I boot the game (sometime after 3 today for Reda reasons!) and see what happens.

    None of the question-mark guys are moving, as far as I can tell. One thing, though, it looks like they appear to be at the side of a path, that's one point that could be relevant here. Also it might be that they're all facing away from the path but I'm less sure of that; maybe their AI is trying to do something and because of that they stop.

    Thanks for the update, @SpirantCrayon22! Please let us know what these question-mark NPCs say when you interact with them next whenever it's convenient for you. It would be useful to find out if there's potentially a link between completing all of the regions (so they have no more information to share) and them becoming stationary in-game.

    I'll also add on your comment about the NPCs seemingly being stuck on the side of the path to your report to the development team.

    Thanks! 😊

    @ubi-borealis

    I just went to Earnningstone, the three question-mark guys were still in the ford. I spoke to one and for the first time I got a response of "I don't have anything for you". Before now I'd get the menu, choose an option, the map would come up (I think it did but it's a while ago now) and . . . nothing would be highlighted. No idea if it cost any silver back then but just now it cost nothing to get the "nothing for you" response. He was facing away from the middle of the path but was not at the edge of the "walkable" bit; he turned around for the conversation but didn't start walking again.

    Actually I'll record a video, something odd happened, one of them refused to talk to me. The video shows me walking around him, I pressed Y, nothing happened, then I started mashing Y while walking around him. Here is the video link.

    There's also a fourth question-mark guy towards Wandrie, just standing in the path.

    Thanks for reaching out to us with an update, @SpirantCrayon22, and for including an additional video. I'm pretty certain that it does cost silver if they do have information for you, but they won't charge you if they have no new locations for you to check out.

    I'll pass this along to the development team as part of the ongoing investigation. The development team have been able to reproduce this issue in-game, and are now looking into what may be potentially causing this issue to happen in-game.

    If we require any additional information from you, we will reach out within this thread.

    Thanks! 😊
