    I play AC Valhalla on PS4. I have noticed that, from time to time, there will be what I call a "pop-up quest" which entails avenging a dead player (I believe an NPC Jomsviking). If you have Eivor inspect the body, Eivor will narrate the manner of death, then you will have the option to avenge the dead body for some XP. Anyway, I sometimes use the skill Explosive Corpse, and when an enemy triggers the booby-trap, they are sometimes killed/disintegrated, not just injured. Sometimes, after this occurs, an "Avenge" quest will pop up, and I will accept. I have noticed that sometimes, the green quest sigil appears at the location of a body that has previously been exploded by the afore-mentioned booby-trap, leaving no body to perform a "confirm kill" on. So when this happens, I cannot complete these quests. Anyway, they are side-quests at most, and I can abandon them at any time, but it is a bit annoying, and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or brought it to Ubisoft's attention, so I figured I would ask. Thanks!

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Leaving no body to perform a "confirm kill" on.

    ====

    These are the worst quests in the game as far as I'm concerned. Next to the Reda quests, which I also stay away from.

    When I first started playing Valhalla I quickly realized, after doing only 4 avenge quests, to completely avoid them. There are too many issues with them. After five months away from the game I recently tried to give them another shot. Sure enough, I encountered more problems with them.

    Two days ago I was in the middle of a quest, fighting enemies, and an avenge quest popped up right in front of me. I accidentally accepted it while I was fighting off enemies and carried on with my current quest. By the time I was finished my current quest the map had reset and the bodies for the avenge quest were all gone while the quest was still in my log. It disappeared after I reloaded the game, but the whole experience was so intrusive and distracting.

    Even while trying to avoid those quests they are still haunting me.

    I've had this happen a couple times. I found a thread about it, but apparently it was considered feedback, not a bug report. I guess because the two things are independently working as intended? Maybe asking them to work together is too much.

    Like the poster suggested, I think it would be great to get an automatic "Confirm Kill" on the exploded perpetrators. I mean, the body exploded, I'm pretty sure the guy is dead.

    The bigger issue is that it sounds like we're supposed to get the avenge pop ups before the killing. I love the CSI: Viking Edition thing Eivor does. ID the perpetrators, then go avenging. It loses some impact when everyone is already dead and turns out it was just an incidental avenging. 😆
