Cut scene won’t play when approaching Werham for Kingdoms end quest

Hi,
I have been able to pledge to Hamtunscire, and told to travel to Werham to help Guthrum - but the cut scene that is meant to play doesn’t for the quest to continue. Read about this bug on various forums, and tried all the random ideas like changing gender, going in and out of animus etc but none of it works to trigger the cut scene.
what I have notice during game play is that I can select kingdoms end from the quest log, but the quest does not appear on the top right while playing. Instead I get messages that I can press the track pad to select a quest (which is odd as the kingdoms end quest is selected). In addition the blue diamond that shows you the location of the quest does not appear.
this bug seems to have been around since Dec 2020 - so interested in knowing when it will be fixed as I cannot complete the game.

Just in case, please complete our guide here. This includes restoring your licenses, which can resolve a decent amount of in-game issues.
