After this update the game just sometimes decides to stop autosaving or quicksaving. Just manual saves work and a hard restart of the game fixes the problem until it appears again after some time.

This is gamebreaking for me! I lost one hour of progress before noticing that the game stopped saving...

I am playing on PC! Please release a hotfix for this ASAP! It can't be that we loose progress if we forget to manually save every 5 minuets which also is very slow compared to quicksaves or autosaves.

F5 quicksave is not working in AC Valhalla. Ever Since it was suggested to delete my .ini file, this issue occurred this evening 4-27-21 at approximately 20:00 hours.

I checked to load save game to test and see if it was saving but just not showing the icon in the bottom right and confirmed, it is not allowing me to quick save. I have approximately 36 hours of play time into this game and play a stealth build on the hardest mode. This means I take me time and take a very methodical approach to playing my open world RPGs. Gaming is very serious business for me and right now, I am finding I spend more time in this support reporting issues and trying to fixes then I do playing this game.

I try to get further assistance in forum, but I get no response, it dead in your Valhalla forum. I need to be able to quick save. This is a serious problem!!!

Am I really the only one with this problem?

Everything is fine on my end,no problem with the auto-save.

For me it works too but at a specific point it just stops. I dont know what triggers it. It happened when i fast traveled from Norway to England searching for fish for instance.

Same bug xbox One. Autosave lasts 2-3 minutes (comes in some border sections / when moving from one area to another) or crashes completely.
The control icons also disappear (a, b, x ...)
Infentario, the world and other pages are black.

Rebooting / booting the console did not fix this.

On the Xbox Series X saving has been unreliable since release.

I'm having the same issue, OP. Autosaves and Quicksaves aren't working. The only time the 'saving' icon appears is when I manually save. I'm also playing on PC.

Just manual saves work and a restart of the game fixes it. It doesnt happen often but it will annoy the hell out of me when the game stops saving for hours and i dont realise it quickly...

@yesin069 Saves have been broken since day one ..... Pretty much every bugs that says "Cannot proceed in Quest XX" is caused by a broken save that is missing important information ...... Whenever you hit a milestone in a quest it makes a autosave and registers in the Save that the milestone has been completed but if it doesn't get registered in the save properly then the game has no way to know the milestone was reached and completed and you get stuck in a quest

To properly fix this problem they need to strip the game back down to the bare essentials, fix the save problem and other Bugs and then start adding in the new stuff one at a time and Bug fix it before adding something else new ..... The thing about doing it that way is if you fix the base stripped down code, you end up fixing most of the problems you were having with all the added code ..... This is troubleshooting 101 stuff and I don't care if it's hardware, automobiles or software the basic troubleshooting steps are essentially the same .... Strip down to the bare essentials and use "divide and conquer" techniques to isolate the problem, fix the root problem and then start putting it back together testing at each stage of reassembly

This is just annoying and should be fixed asap...

@suomikissa Strange, I'm also playing on Xbox One, and last night I played for around 3 hours, all the while online (so patched 1.2.1), and I had no problem with auto or manual saving.

What triggers it for me is loading a save game (which is odd, because on startup everything works fine). Every time I load a save game autosave and quicksave stop working. It is annoying as hell.

I got a many crushes after I fishing new fish what update put in game. Like hour fishing and game crush, lost connection and basically delete all processes when I arrived east Anglia soards to fish, all fish are gone in bag. One big fish started flying and game shut down itself several times
One situation when fish throw me in the sky, and I died out of earth atmosphere
I played like 10h and all are geleted, gone because saving doesn't work, even I made manual savings, their all gone and game start a fast travel point where I arrived to move ahead east Anglia soards.
Big fishes don't come out of water, so they are connected to rope and swim under boat, Eivor don't take them out of water, and big fish either just unconnect and go away or game crush, and I have multiple incidents where I've been thrown into sky, or I'm stoned into last position.

After 1.2.1 quicksaving (and maybe some auto-saving but maybe it just coincides with less auto-save trigggers) often does not work for me either. It is not 100% broken, however; it occasionally works and manual saves still work normally, but I don't know what the common factor is for when it is broken.

This happens for me too. Always when reloading and sometimes when fast traveling between regions. It just stops saving until i restart the game of fast travel inside the region. Bad for me because i dont fast travel often.
