Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Hello there,
As we have had no reports of this issue with missing dialogue persisting in game following the release of TU 1.3.0, we will now be locking this thread.
If you encounter any further trouble with missing dialogue, please don't hesitate to create a new thread so we can investigate further.
Thanks!
No dialogue when starting game ️ Every other sound is there. I’m really disappointed been looking forward to this game for months even booked time of work and I can’t even play it
I have the same issue on PC. Although I think the audio is there, just so low that it can barely be heard. All other audio works, including conversations with NPCs outside of cutscenes.
@oggster93 I've tried speaking with the npcs and it's the same, the volume is so low its incomprehensible
@oggster93
if you have it on pc someone has spoke about a fix on a different post. Something like changing the language on Ubisoft connect before you load Valhalla .
I found a fix in another thread which worked for me: change the Xbox audio output settings from 7.1 Uncompressed to Stereo Uncompressed , I hope it works for you too.
Adding my voice to those saying the audio is atrocious. Playing on PS4, and it's completely embarrassing - ambient sounds are missing, dialogue cuts out and then starts playing when another character is speaking, and the overall quality is really terrible.
Hello,
I am getting no sound other than background noises on the PS5 Valhalla. There are no spoken voices. I have tried changing every sound setting possible on the PS5 and my tv. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I can hear some audio like background noises and minor dialogues with random civilians but I can't hear things like my footsteps, combat noises, or any important dialogue (important npc's, quests).
This issue started when I was in the middle of some sort of escort quest as part of a pledge in East Anglia. I had to pause the game mid dialogue on the guy who was talking and I also put my computer into sleep mode. Some time later when I turned my computer back on and hopped right into the game, the audio issue started.
I first tried verifying my files, but it didn't work so I tried reinstalling the game. Didn't work. At this point I'm thinking it has something to do with my save file since I paused the game when someone was speaking and now perhaps my save file is in some weird state. I have not tried reverting to a different save file since I don't want to lose progress, so I can't confirm this.
I'm running windows 10 with an rtx 2060 super, intel core i7 5820k, asus x-99 mobo, samsung evo nvme. Also worth noting, I use a Focusrite clarett audio interface for sound i/o and every other sound i/o on my computer is disabled through windows and always has been, so the there is only 1 place for sound to go to.
This issue is seriously ruining my immersion and I just can't bring myself to play the game while this issue persists. Please look into it, and let me know if you need anything else of me. tyty.
Adding to this, so it's more visible! The same happened to me just now. The game worked completely fine in the morning, closed the game and reopened it again an hour ago and audio just stopped working.
I was in Snotinghamscire, when footsteps stopped working and dialogue disappeared during mystery world event in same region. Travelled back to settlement, still didn't fix itself. Verified the files like you, nothing. Tried old save, nothing.
I have put almost 20 hours into the game, missing out on 98% of audio dialogue. Having to read it all, I’m tired of it, ruins the story for me. My responses in my support ticket take 4 days to get a new response, with some useless suggestion that doesn’t work.
I am playing on an Xbox series X, I notice this thread seems to be mostly PC players. Not sure if my issues is related, but I have tried the following with no luck.
>reset of Xbox
>uninstall/install
> try loading new game
> installed a different language audio pack and run that
All efforts have resulted in nothing but waisted time.
I will be seeking a refund I guess, which sucks because this game is really fun.
Hi all. Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. Just got the game for the Xbox one and installed it with the new patch 1.04 and I have all the background noises but no voice dialogue no subtitle bubble in the prologue and into the next chapter. As soon as the next chapter started with no dialogue I turned it off. I checked all my settings and everything. From what I have read, I’ve heard others are having the same issue even on other systems. Any idea as to the resolve or are we S.O.L. Until another patch comes out??
The audio has gone when you pet your dog in your encampment, also the audio in the title screens is brocken.
Having an audio issue currently. Started a new game due to other issue, corrupt save files, and now in my new game I have no sound other than voices when I am near or on the ship. Can't hear water effects, rowing, wind ect. Only voices if the characters happen to be in any conversation. Playing on PC, on the latest patch.
@rvkennedy I had that problem twice. Had to completely turn the game off and back on for it to come back.
@rvkennedy check your audio in console (not game) settings. Im playing on PC but I recall that some console users were complaining about no voices and it was related to game taking control of console sound settings and changing it to e.g 5.1 sound instead of stereo.
No ambient sound, no music in main menu, various sounds "missing", I only hear footsteps and those are echoing and muffled.
