@ubi-borealis
When I played this game back in early December I did not have this problem. It has only just started happening on my latest install today, where Eivor's voice is drastically louder than everyone else's. He booms over everyone else to the point that the game is completely unplayable. It is not a matter of what sound device I use, as it does it across all of them. And it never did it before, on the exact same hardware, so it's definitely something your devs have done since the last time I played this game.
I've tried playing on my Realtek onboard audio, same issue. My Mackie Onyx Artist 1-2 external soundcard, the same. My RTX 2080 or 3080 digital output to my monitor, same problem. No change. It also happens on my girlfriend's PC with her RTX 2070 HDMI output to a 5.1 surround system. And it happens on our PS5 as well. From what I'm reading here, it's happening literally across all platforms, yet here you guys are still asking about what hardware people are using.. smh..
This has nothing to do with end user audio device, I can promise you that. Your customer service guys are going on and on about what devices people are using, but if it's happening across all platforms and all different types of audio devices, then you'd think you guys would get the hint that it's got jack sh-t to do with hardware and everything to do with something your devs have done since December. I'm trying to tell you that it took me all of 5 minutes of research to figure out that you're barking up the wrong tree. Why has it taken you 7 months to do exactly nothing about this?
I'm seeing hundreds upon hundreds of complaints for this going all the way back to December on Reddit and your forums here, and you still have done nothing about it. I stopped playing before because of gamebreaking bugs. Well, time to uninstall again until you work out yet another one. Plenty of other games to play.
Hey there,
Thank you for your detailed response including information on all the troubleshooting you have performed to date.
When we investigate an issue we investigate all potential causes. This includes both from a players setup configuration and from our side. I can assure you that all avenues are investigated.
If you are able to send over a copy of your DxDisg and MsInfo we will be more than happy to take a look at this also.
Many thanks
is there an option to edit the sound so that everything sounds normal? The main character is super loud, but everything else is very, very soft.
Hello there @Herman_vd_Dool! Welcome to the forums
I'm sorry to hear that you're encountering trouble with Eivor sounding much louder than everything else. Thanks for taking the time to share your report with us. To help us to take a closer look at this issue, would you be able to provide us with the following information:
Additionally, if you have any video that demonstrates Eivor speaking much louder than anyone else, this will be helpful for further investigation. I would recommend uploading any footage to a sharing platform, such as YouTube or Google Drive, as this will allow you to post a shareable link within this thread.
We can then pass your report along to the development team for further investigation.
Thanks!
@ubi-woofer Apologies myself for taking so long to respond also.
I can still not create a support ticket, it seems as though only live chat is available to me for whatever reason.
Unless this has been fixed since, I can still send my files over if you create a ticket for me.
Thanks!
Hello there @Jon_ofDad!
I'm sorry to hear that you've had trouble creating a support ticket. I've checked in with the development team, who have said that they no longer require any additional reports for the investigation. Thank you for offering to provide us with one. If they request more information, we will let you know within this thread.
Additionally, once we have any updates to share with you all from the investigation, we will be sure to let you all know within this thread as soon as we are able to.
Thanks!
This is getting ridiculous. It's been almost a year since this bug appeared and nothing has been done to resolve it.
Out of desperation I've started digging into the game through Cheat Engine (since it appears UbiSoft can't be bothered to fix their own game) to see if I can by some miracle figure out how to fix it myself. What I have found out so far with the limited knowledge I have is that the game sound for certain things like menu sounds, Eivor's voice, the horn, etc. get increased by ~6db (~50% increase) when K&M input is detected. It goes back to normal levels when a controller input is used.
Tell your engineers to pull their heads out of their asses and do something about this. We've been patient for far too long and nobody over there gives a [censored]. I'm out of patience given that I paid for this and cannot use it.
Hello @spidermonk111 and everyone else who contributed to this thread, to let us know that Eivor's voice could appear louder in certain cutscenes and other environments.
Due to technical constraints and other priority issues, we have been informed we will not be implementing a fix for these specific cases. We recommend adjusting subtitles and other sound settings to help aid comprehension of the NPCs, in any situations where the sound is not perfectly balanced.
Well that's cool. Last UbiSoft game I ever buy.
To anybody that cares and has the ability: I have gotten the audio to balance correctly with K&M by messing with memory values. After attempting to lock a value that changes to seemingly random 7 digit values the game crashed and after a restart the audio was fixed. Of course after closing the game properly the next time the problem is still there, but the point is it can be fixed.
I will dig into it on my own time to try and come up with a usable solution, or at least a way to trigger the crash reliably so it works with some effort. Shame on you UbiSoft, such a scummy company.
@ubi-borealis The issue is, Eivor's voice has a booming, reverberating sound to it while playing, with high bass frequencies that blow out all other sounds and dialogue. But when I try to record it with software, the difference is difficult to tell for some reason. I'm no programmer or audio engineer, so the issue is up to your developers to fix. But for so many people to be having this problem for so long and your guys still having done nothing about it is just typical Ubisoft, now isn't it? You act like the issue isn't widespread, and there's not hundreds, or even thousands of people complaining about it across your forums and Reddit. Something needs to be done, because this makes the game completely unplayable.
@ubi-milky Wow, what a joke. Last [censored] Ubisoft title I ever buy. So, you refuse to fix a game breaking bug in a game that we all paid full price for, and then you also refuse to refund said game? You guys are a real piece of work.
Hello there,
As shared by my colleague @Ubi-Milky, the development team have confirmed that they will not be implementing a fix for this issue. You can read their full statement below:

As there has been a resolution for this investigation, we will now be marking this thread as "Resolved."
