The audio is bugged for me too. I had the same bug with Origins. The voices have echo, don't know why, and some sounds effect are mute with subtitle instead. (Like "Fire crackling" for example)
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Hello there,
As we can confirm the development team will be unable to deploy a fix for this audio issue, we will now be locking this thread. You can read their full statement regarding this decision below:
After thorough investigation, the development team will not be able to resolve these audio issues. Resolution of this issue would require an overhaul of the entire audio system from the ground up and is not feasible. We recommend enabling subtitles to aid comprehension of dialogue.
If you have any additional feedback you would like to share regarding the audio experience in-game, then I recommend that you create a thread within our General Discussions forum.
If any changes are to be made to the audio in-game, then this information will be made available within patch notes shared in the News & Announcements forum.
Thank you!
I have also a bugged audio in either language settings, it is a like an echo the whole time. Like the characters are talking and then it all echos or like they are talking into tin cans. I tried various things already and didnt fix it yet.
I actually found a quick solution which i am not happy about, i searched a little bit and found a similiar bug which happened back then with AC:Origins... For me it is a "simple" surround sound issue. I turned off the surround sound option in my Logitech G933 Headset and the echoing sound effect was gone... as i am not happy. i really like to play with surround sound Truly hope there will be another fix for that
Restarting does not work. As the thread title says, dialogue in the game has an awful, immersion breaking echo. Is there any fix for this? (i am on PC, never had an issue like this in any game before, I am not running any third party sound software or anything like that)
ubi? This is game breaking, never had any issue like this with odyssey or origins
Hi, I just started playing Valhalla and I appear to have some strange audio, like the voices are echoing and it sounds like I am in an echoing room even outside in the overworld.
The sound of Eivor and some other characters in dialogues is echoey.
Does someone know a fix because it seems tho its a common problem?
Weird echo in dialogues and sounds (video), reinstall/verifying game didn't work - video
I and plenty of others are also having similar issues with sound. Reports are all over reddit as you can see in the following links just to name a few:
I get a lot of echoing on NPC voices in the game, seems like a lot of people on Reddit got the same issue(PC). I found a video on Youtube showcasing the issue.
@reaper666__ Do you also notice voices echoing? footsteps too loud, music missing and other general issues?
I haver reported similar situations and want to understand if you are also suffering from other sound problems.

Hello, I just want to make this visible for the AC Valhalla team: Me and many other PC players are having issues regarding the sound of the game. There is some kind of echo in the dialogs and the main characters voice aswell. The sound mixing is also feeling a bit strange, some sounds like footsteps, hidden blade and snow is way louder than the speech of the characters etc. Just wanted to let you know that this is an issue for many of us, so please if you read this like so they can see.
Same for me, its like there is echo on the sound.
I think the devs might have been deaf while playing this and testing...
100$ for this.. im kinda shocked actually. thought Assassins creed would have learned how to make games by now.
a lot of people are facing those issues, Ubisoft still does nothing to fix this and there is no known fix.
The Echo on NPC voices is literally killing my game experience, especially when Eivor is 100 times louder than anyone else. pls ubisoft.
@afitgera Hey there! My apologies for the delayed response to your post. I'm also extremely sorry for the inconvenience or frustration that this audio bug may have caused you. Your disappointment is completely understandable here! With that being said, please first try completing the steps we have listed in our technical troubleshooting guide. Then, if those steps do not help, would you be able to provide videos exhibiting this bug for me? I would be glad to get them reported to the team for you!
@tiffanya-15 I wish I was just getting horrible audio; I'm getting like only the reverb effects in character dialogue and not getting the main dialogue audio at all. Like I can hear the voices echoing in the cave, but not the voice itself. Really bizarre.
I'm having this issue too. I was playing origins and odyssey-both games without any sound problems. Here in valhalla sound is... just terrible. Echo in every dialogue and all sounds out of balance. You cannot hear npc standing on front of you but you hear loud and clear some guy walking two streets away. Soundtrack for the game is great, but i know this only by using spotify-in the game music is so quiet that in most occasions you won't be able to notice that anything is playing in the background. Game itself looks great but because of that sound quality I have stopped to play and started to think about refund.
