On PS4, patch 1.0.2. Cannot complete the flyting mystery in Stavanger because the relevant NPC (Manning, Fighter of Wolves) is dead and remains so after restarting. The map icon is still there, along with another NPC who's alive but uninteractable. Has anyone else experienced this?

As we have had no further reports of this issue persisting in-game following the release of TU 1.2.2, we will now be locking this thread.
If you encounter any further trouble when flyting against Manning, please don't hesitate to open up a new thread so we can take a closer look. When opening a new thread, please include as much information about the issue you're encountering as possible. Any images or videos that demonstrate the issue in-game are also helpful for further investigation.

In Stavanger, I am not able to do the flyting mystery. I have completed everything else in Rygjafylke, but the flyter just stands there. It won’t let me interact with him. There is also a dead body beside him that won’t respawn.

i could not speak with the NPC to start the Stavanger flyting and now he is dead an wont respawn to start the event

Hey there! I am sorry that this character is dead. Are you able to fast travel elsewhere, then travel back?

Yes, I have tried multiple times to leave the area and return to try again. I have also tried restarting the game, however the body is still there and I can not begin the event. Thanks for helping.

I am also not able to begin the Flyting challenge in Stavanger. My NPC is alive, I’ve restarted, and fast travelled away and back.

Manning in Stavanger is dead! How can an important NPC for a mystery quest die??? Found him in the water, managed to push him to shore to pick him up. Can't finish the Flyting as HE IS DEAD and that's the only thing I need to finish my trophies!!!!
Do something Ubisoft, reset NPCs with a small patch or dunno, why is he dead???

Hi I have a problem with one of the flyting missions in Stavanger. I couldnt get in the interaction with the guy to start the event so by mistake I've killed him and now I can't complete it.

I am having the same problem. Fast travel, changing continents and closing/restarting the game will not make the NPC respawn.
not having any luck uploading the screen cap though, forum says it’s an invalid file extension... -

Same problem. I accidentally killed Manning. Now He is dead and Ican not complete flyting. PS4 Patch 1.0.4

@scarfoxnyeh Similar issue here. essential NPCs appear to no longer be essential and can/will die. My entire longship crew is dead and I'm the only one in my boat.
