Gender Bug in Present Time

I have seen this short cutscene in other youtube videos in which Basim sits down at the fire pit and sees Female Eivor smiling back at him. I thought this cutscene was a result of the player choosing Female Eivor or letting the Animus decide the gender, so I decided to try it out as well in game. I played only as Male Eivor, never switching or anything, and to my surprise when triggering the cutscene I STILL got Female Eivor. Darby has specifically said that BOTH genders are canon so why can't I enjoy this and feel like the choice I made for the gender is still fitting for the story? There are several things in game which add to this mistake/contradiction to Darby's statement: The note in Aelfred's study in Winchester which names Eivor as Varinsdottir, although you play as male. Another one is in an earlier mission when you have to find a thegn's past lover and bring her to him (forgot the name and arc), in that mission you are referred as "her" even though you play as male.
I just wish that those mentioned above would be fixed in order to make the story feel more real no matter the gender choice.
