I’ve put the game on hold since close to release, in the hopes they’d add an option to make the camera closer in combat. When I saw the most recent update I got excited for half a second before realizing it’s everything BUT combat. . Have they ever commented on the combat camera and whether or not it’s something they’d consider? Is the fact that they added non combat only camera options, pretty much a sign they won’t do so for combat as well? I just find the combat so much less enjoyable and engaging with it zoomed out so much. Personally feel Origins had the best combat camera and wish they’d add an option to make it like that.

@wickedwolf104 No confirmation from the devs as to whether we can get that 'over the shoulder' sort of combat Origins could sometimes get. Though it did zoom out too at times. You're right that it had a nice balance though.

I think the fact that they have included this new camera is a sign that we're going in the right direction. Hotfixes are becoming more frequent, and the game is generally more stable and back to where it should be after the recent patch too.

So it may be something they might look into, but nothing concrete.

@orcbeard92 appreciate the response! I guess I’ll hold off longer then. Hopefully it’s something they would consider adding soon. I know there’s been a topic on this forum since November with people asking for it. In the topic, everyone even specified “in combat” also so I’m really surprised that Ubisoft added it in, but then restricted it to out of combat only. From what I’ve seen, so many people were asking for in combat only, and were fine with the out of combat camera. So strange they did the opposite.

Is there any ini tweak or mod you know that could do it? I searched on google and I see there used to be some mod on nexus that changed the combat camera but I don’t know anything about as it looks like it was removed.

@wickedwolf104 I'm not super skilled when messing about with the game files, but I imagine it could probably be done somehow. There may even be camera mods out there somewhere on something like Nexus, but i'm not sure.

Until then we'll have to wait and see if they keep giving the player more options for customisation etc.

@orcbeard92 yeah for sure; I have plenty of others game in the backlog (and no time to play) in the meantime while I wait. Hopefully they add it as an option. Thanks for responses!
