For the past two months I've been experiencing an issue where my game loads into rainy weather regardless of what the weather was like when I saved the game. It is not game breaking but I am now pretty sick of it. It eventually stops raining but it always takes about a full in game day for it to stop. I tried waiting till it stops and then saving and loading back in but it again reverts back to rain. I've also played for several hours and still no matter what the weather is like when I save the game, it loads into rain.

I know this isn't the biggest of issues but after a couple of months it is starting to become hard to ignore. I checked on this forums to see if anyone else had the issue and there are a couple of threads but it doesn't seem like any of them get very far. Anyone got a solution?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Hi Vikings!

I'd like to reach out to you all with an update. The development team have confirmed that this issue wherein it is always raining in-game should be resolved with the release of Title Update 1.6.2 which is available now. You can read the full patch notes here.

If you are still experience this issue after installing the new update then please don't hesitate to share an update within this thread so we can notify the development team. When sharing a new report, please can you provide us with the a video which shows the following:

    • You have the latest Title Update installed on your platform. You can check this in the main menu screen.
    • That it is raining constantly in-game after loading your save. Travel to various locations on the map to show this is the case.

I would recommend uploading your video to a video sharing platform such as YouTube, you can then copy the URL link into this thread.

Can you also ensure that your latest save is uploaded to the cloud. If you are unsure how to do this there is a support article that you can check here

EVERY SINGLE TIME I load the game my player is drunk, it is raining and the sun is not at the position it was when I saved the game, but reverts to a fixed position every time.

I tried different saves, it was not fixed, has been happening for many weeks, I can't take it any more, and it doesn't even appear on the known issues list?!

not sure if happening to anyone else, i thought it was coincidence at first, but literally every time i load a save game it starts to rain, usually persists for at least a full in game day, not game breaking but makes it really annoying when trying to get fish to spawn in.

Everytime I boot up the game, it’s always raining! It goes away after awhile but it starts raining again without fail. Yes, I’m aware that rain is part of the weather system and is normal but I’m absolutely certain that it didn’t rain this frequently before the new update and my save has over 200 hours of playtime. I genuinely think this is a bug but I don’t know what could’ve triggered it. Could it be the river raids? Because that has caused many other things in the game to be broken.

@joy122 Forgot to mention that the raining doesn’t stop even if I meditate, feast or sleep in the settlement.

    @joy122

Meditating only changes the light from day to night. If you see people or animals around you they are at the exact same place. It was just lazy implemented. In other games people sleep at night and you see everything change. Even in Odyssey and Origins this happened. In Valhalla it only seems to changes the day/time, nothing else.

BTW In England there is a lot of rain and mist. But I think Ubisoft overdid both.

@b00msie Yeah. I live in UK, so I’m aware how often it rains here. I still think it’s a bug in my game because of how frequently it rains and how persistent it is now, whereas before it didn’t rain as often. I just loaded up my game now from my quick save file and it wasn’t raining when I saved it. Yet it was raining when I loaded the file. It’s happening every single time I load my saves. I wouldn’t have made this post if I didn’t notice something was wrong.

    It's just England being England.
If you want sunny Greek weather and white sand beaches play Odyssey.

For a few months now, I've been experiencing a bug where it's raining whenever you load a save game, regardless of the state of weather when it was saved.

Game was saved when it was bright and sunny? Doesn't matter, if you reload that save it's raining. This replaced the Spawning in drunk glitch that was patched in later December or thereabouts. I'd hoped that others would have experienced and pointed it out so that it would be patched, but I haven't seen anyone else experiencing this, or it be listed as a 'known issue'. It is also the case for when returning to Ravensthorpe from River Raids (but it has been the case loading in literally every save since December).

Every time I load the game it loads with rain, I do not have the choice to going to an earlier save, I do not have the choice to medidate 3-4 times every single load to get over the rain, PLEASE just fix this bug, make it not rain after every single damn time I load the game.

    Hello there @Godohandus!

Thanks for taking the time to report this. I'd like to collect some more information about your weather trouble when loading up a save.

    • Does this rain persist throughout gameplay, or does it eventually stop?
    • Are you loading in at the same location (such as Ravensthorpe) or does this happen in different locations?
    • When did this first start? Was it after a specific quest or action in-game?
    • Could you send us a video that shows this happening in-game?

We can then pass this report on for further investigation by the development team.

    Thanks! 😊

Can confirm the same issue; playing on Xbox One. This issue was already present in patch 1.1.2 (and perhaps even earlier), both online and offline, and is not yet resolved in patch 1.2.0.

@imaginaryruins Yeah, that's exactly why I posted here for the first time lol. I was really hoping for 1.2 to fix the issue but nothing I try seems to make it go away.

Any update on this? I was hoping that when the new festival started that maybe it would be fixed? I tried on my brother's Xbox Series X he doesn't have the issue. Makes me think that something about my save file must be causing the issue.

After looking through the forums it seems that this has been an issue specifically for PS5 and maybe the Xbox One as well considering ImaginaryRuins response. I would appreciate some way of submitting this as a bug report so that it could be added to the known issues list and be actively worked on.

Hey there, folks! Would any of you be able to grab a short video clip that shows the weather is always rainy upon loading into the game please? If any of you can also confirm if this differs between England and Norway, that would be great!

@ubiexcellent Thank you for the response! I can tell you right now that the issue does not occur in Norway or Vinland. As for a video yes, I have recorded one. Is there any particular place you want me to upload it or do you want me to just upload it to YouTube and link it here?
