Letter to Ubisoft: You took away my favorite cloak

Since new patch, my favorite cloak has been patched out of existence! I don't remember the name of the cloak (really weird name that was some kind of ceremonial cloak) but it was the special event cloak during christmas event that you get from the special currency received from completing the drinking games around Ravensthorpe's huge bonfire festival. Not only am I [censored] that cloak, which was my main cloak I wore all the time, has been patched out. But is this how this game will be operated now? They offer special gear from special events, which you work hard to obtain as a goal for participating in the events, finally get it and then it is taken away when the next seasonal event comes around? You know that this completely deflates any desire to participate in any seasonal events that come out from now on right? The christmas event was a travesty to begin with, literally 3/4 of the seasonal missions were too bugged to play (or at least want to play) but now it's all completely pointless if you don't get anything (besides... xp? I already have my entire tree unlocked. I'm good, thanks). I sincerely hope this is a bug. It's not too farfetched of a concept. And if it was intentional, just say that it was a bug and then quietly reverse it so you don't lose any more face. Love your games, you're still one of my favorite developers for the past couple decades, but the longevity of your games are only as good as the sustainability of your add-on content.

@shebnitz So, they did not actually patch out the cloak, Modraniht Ceremonial Cape. If you go to the store, from your menu, you will see that they are currently offering a free Godly Reward bundle. In the Godly reward bundle is the Yule Festival rewards, 300 opals, and Altair's outfit. The issue is that right now some people are having an issue claiming the reward; or, they are able to claim the reward and the gear they already had in their inventory is disappearing and being replaced by a large amount of materials. So if you have not already attempted to claim the reward I suggest you head over to the store and grab the reward. Hopefully you will not fall into one of the two categories I described and will actually be able to reclaim your favorite cloak.
I would add that my hope is that Ubisoft will clarify their intentions for giving away this gear set in this manner. My hope is that it is to allow the set to be in your owned items inventory so that it will be available to any future games you may start; and, hopefully with the new event on Thursday those items will become part of your owned items and be available for future games as well. -

also there is no need to participate in the vents, because it seems 3 months later they will hand out all the stuff for free anyway as they did now with the godly reward.
