A Rivalry For The Ages Quest Bug (The Sequel) Hello There, (Apologies for the block of text) So I started the 'A Rivalry For The Ages' Quest, yesterday, as soon as I built the Museum. I also built the Seer's house straight after. Once I'd done that I decided to go for the London Alliance, cause 'A Rivalry For The Ages' was down there so I'd have to head there anyways. I went down to Maximilian's house and he wasn't there. No problem, I decided to go ahead and do the London quest line. Once that's all done and dusted I went back to Maximilian's house and he wasn't there, again. But there was a few random npc's around the area dead after the whole burning city situation (not sure if this is normal either). Waited around a few times and he still didn't turn up, so I went through the whole Asgard storyline picking up all the tears or Ymir and all doing the Mysteries, etc... Went back to Ol' Max and Low & Behold he's now spawned... But as one of the random npc corpses I mentioned earlier. Didn't think too much of it as his key is still on his chair, but now the game tells me I can't pick it up as he's 'Not Distracted'. Not sure how being dead doesn't class as a pretty big distraction, but nevertheless it looks like I'm unable to complete this quest. P.S. Before it gets asked, no I don't have an earlier save as I only made 13 save files and just overwrite the oldest one when I need to make a proper save.(using a quicksave in most other situations) Pretty sure he's not meant to die, but he doesn't seem to respawn either (probably owing to the fact he's not meant to die)... I tried to attach an Image, but it won't work for some reason.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers in advance

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Apologies for the format and the lack of image. I had to post this on my phone as the desktop version of the forums wouldn't post anything at all, so figured it was best to get a half decently explained error log out than nothing at all.

So early in the game i explored lunden and i was doing all the side missions. When i came across the quest "A rivalry for the ages". In this the owner of the house had died to some of the guards in the area. I thought nothing of this and continued throughout the game and i returned to it. I am unable to do this quest due to the owner being dead and i cant grab the key. Anyone got a solution like resetting all npc's in game.

P.S i dont want to go back to old save as i have done a lot of progress right now and i dont want to do everything again.

ich hab das problem das er beim ablenken den schlüssel nicht auf dem hocker hat.Die kleine die ihm ablenken soll redet ständig mit ihm.
spielstand laden kommt nicht in frage da ich weit gequestet habe.

I have the problem that he doesn't have the key on the stool when he is distracted. The little one who is supposed to distract him keeps talking to him.
Load the saved game is out of the question because I have asked far.

There is still no key on the bench and Maximilian is dead every time I show up so I can't have anyone distract him. I have completed the Lunden arc completely, fast traveled to other areas, started and completed a new arc, etc. but every time I come back it's the same thing he's dead in front of the building. Also when I use Odins Sight it shows the marker for the key on the stool but no key is there to pick up. Lastly, there appeared to be a work around with the back barred door before the last patch but now since the patch nothing works. I want to complete the region!! Please fix ASAP!!
