Same problem still exists. No key can be picked up and the child distraction of Maximus is stuck in a loop - does not reset even after completion of multiple other quests.

Note that it is a vase of fish oil that you need. There are several of them in the barn and the location of the barn is a little bit north west of the dock!

It worked for me, when holding a jar of the fish oil - aim at the door then throw it at the door, the oil will spill onto the door and coat it a green color. Then load a torch, aim it at the green color and throw the torch onto it. The door won't explode but it will be aflame on the outer surface of the door. Then open the door like you usually do and retrieve the statue.

I had the same issue on ps5. After trying the dive of the valkyries a couple times I tried the oil jar. Took 2 tries but that worked. Seems Lunden is very buggy between this, and the fish oil guy missing and not being able to complete the walls and shadows arc.

Yes, I have the same problem (PC player). No key. When using Odin's sight it indicates the location of the key, but there is no key when I get to the stool and no prompt to pick it up. I was hoping update 1.1.0 will sort the issue but it did not. Eventually got access through charisma. Still it's annoying to have the issue.

@gonsaaa just drop it mate, it's not really worth it anyway. Or go back with higher charisma

I had the same issue, now I completed the mission with the key but tragedy happened, the game glitches and plays again but I went to save just incase then the game freezes, boots me off, and the mission I done cant be done because of no key. Annoyes me so much when it happened.

Been trying to play Rivalry of the Ages side mission basically since launch and even in the 1.10 patch that came out December 15 or whatever you did not fix that the key doesn't doesn't show up while Maximilian is distracted. Please Ubisoft drop some updates or something

same thing is happening to me. Distracted him, no key. The key shows up as supposed to be there from Odin's vision, but you can't actually pick it up.

Two month later and still no key, so thanks for nothing Ubisoft, you eternal well of disappointment.

So it's been what? 2 months and this bug is STILL in the game?!
I swear this game is more bugged than Cyberpunk.

I've got the same problem, I've done the "smashing the compass" quest and it still hasn't reset the key, I've tried everything. This is [censored] man!!!

I'm having the same problem with no key to pick up. In addition, I'm not getting any location indicator for where to find Maximilian. Both of these glitches combined, makes playing "A Rivalry for the Ages" impossible to play. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

On the "A Rival for the Ages" mission, I distracted Max, but still no access to the key. I know I'm not the only one and hope this can be fixed

ANSWERED WITHOUT BUG FIXED!

It's simple get on your horse and go to back door. While on your horse you can kick (I play on PS4 so to much from the horse I press R1). If you do this right up against the door you'll kick out the barred door. Took me about 20 seconds of trying until I got it.

Unable to collect key - no interaction button so i cannot open the door to the house! Frustrating how many glitches this game has!

FOR ANYONE HAVING ISSUES WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO PICK UP THE KEY: I USED 2 EXPLODING ARROWS ON THE BARRED DOOR AND IT ALLOWED ME TO OPEN IT. SHOOT ONE EXPLODING ARROW ABILITY, AND THEN ANOTHER AS CLOSE TOCIT AS POSSIBLE. ITLL CAUSE A LARGE ENOUGH EXPLOSION TO BREAK THE BAR ON THE DOOR
