Ubisoft has been catering to SJW movements and its hurting their loyal fan base. Im someone who got the platinum trophy for all Assassins Creed Games, but now you guys are so blind and in fear of cancelation, that u lie to your fans.. How BOTH male and female Eivoirs are canon when the plot chooses female all the time, the npcs CALL ME "SHE", thats totally innaceptable, u even add the ugly Sisterhood tatoo in the game.
Thats not all... [removed 08/03/2021 by @Ubi-Woofer]
Final theres a rumor of a new Assassins Creed game set in Japan with a WOMAN only protagonist.. [censored]? If this real im done with you Ubisoft. Game are art, politicis are something else.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@yahikoxiii-2 I prefer female protagonists. I have absolutely no problem with games bringing forth woman & men as their lead characters, so long it fits the story.
AC games have no reason to have a fixed gender in protagonists. I have a blue skinned woman with the gods of war kinda tattoo on her face in Fenix Rising, love it.
I absolutely hate SJW [censored], but having an alternate option in games is nothing like that.
If they [censored] up and forgot altering SHE to HE, it would be annoying, i'd hate it to, but gods, can we still have a choice? Yes please, and i'm not mad for it.
@lysvander I didn't see him making any arguments against having female protagonists in Ubisoft games, but his premise is correct. I've spent most of my time in Valhalla as male and I've been misgendered a handful of time because... well, I'm not sure. Is it a bug? Is the female version supposed to be canon? Either way, what's the point of letting me pick my gender if the game is going to ignore that choice anyway?
There's also an overrepresentation of females as combatants, and minorities in general. A lot of what we see in the game are things that either weren't present in the culture or came at a much later time in history.
The only saving grace here is that it's stated to be a work of fiction merely inspired by historical events... But the liberties they take are definitely catering to woke ideology as these decisions are historically inaccurate and attempt to demonstrate the exceptions as the rule. Odyssey and Valhalla are actually two of the least historically authentic games in the franchise for that reason.
@gearsmonger the mispronouning in the game is confirmed as a bug. There are loads of occasions where female Eivor is reffered to as he as well as the reverse.
But yeah, I can't say why ubisoft is only going for canonical female protagonists atm (especially as odyssey, Vahalla and apparently this next game have them). There's no issue with it, but it needs to fit into the story. Like ancient Greece was outrageously male dominated and in my own head, a canon male protagonist would have been historically accurite. But hey ho, they decided against that.
Odyssey, despite everything, Historically is FAR better than Vahalla from a historical perspective
like imagine if a female protagonist overcame their society's sexism to become a badass assassin? Instead, ubisoft are rewriting history. So women warriors, or in power no one raises an eyebrow or is seen as normal: yet this actually discredit real women's historical achievements. Look at aethelflaed in the viking age. She was an Anglo-Saxon women who managed to rule mercia (only woman in anglo saxon history to rule an English kingdom alone ) and kicked the vikings out of mercia. She outshone her brother (King Edward of wessex) and yet, by ubisoft rewriting the period's history, her achievements automatically become unremarkable
@mexicantemplar yeah... What you just described there is toxic masculinity. You think it's to do with nature, when in fact it's learnt behavior, not inherited. Jesus, even most animals show more compassion than humans do. The difference between humans and animals is a little thing called society and culture - stuff which creates morals, morality and arguably the definition of what a society considers right and wrong. You see, way I was brought up and what's been hammered into my head is everyone is equal and deserves equal opportunity. No one should feel unsafe or at risk because they're deemed 'weaker'.
The attitude you are displaying is insinuating that women are harassed because they're weaker? Describe to me how that is not sexism? Something which, last I checked, was condemned by both left and right political views.
You are right in saying any extremes are bad.. But it is increasingly evident that YOUR definition of what is extreme is very different to most people.
I've been very vocal actually about my distain about ubisoft's treatment of history and women in history as they're writing it to make it more PC and diminishing the achievements of what amazing women achieved despite their society's obsticles. And what I dislike is how they're doing that. Vikings and last kingdom have done a better job of being PC than Vahalla and (somehow) are more respectful to the history, despite both shows being hilariously inaccurate.
@yahikoxiii-2 If you can't make your character look manly in Fenyx, you are doing something wrong. Or do you want it to be some bulky dude like the brother? Then all the platforming and flying would be ridiculous, and Fenyx being more nimble looking is clearly part of the narrative.
Also, only female Eivor is canon, which I agree is ridiculous given the marketing, even if I'm one of the people you are moaning about, and btw, it's you bringing politics into it. People can be lefties and still prefer choices in games or even actually not give a damn if the only option is male. I would not care at all if AC had just kept giving us only male characters, but I still think a choice is superior when it's trying to be an RPG and I don't care what anyone else is doing in their single-player game. At the same time, if we do have a choice, that choice should also be canon. I dislike being given the option for x at the same time as being told it's wrong.
Finally, being called she is grossly immersion breaking, but it's been confirmed to be a bug.
@max18400 In fact, one could easily write a female assassin specifically even in male dominated societies. Instead they chose to ditch the assassin gameplay at the same time as introducing canonically female protagonists, which is just weird.
@mexicantemplar Dude, saying a character in a game looks "gay" because it's not a super bulky male in a cartoonish game where being nimble is the entire point, is the actual definition of toxic masculinity.
@gloomseeker antifa sadly are modern fascist.... and sinces u support them as i say u are as wrong as the "far right"
antifa solves everything with violences... they arent mean to be likeable.. feel sad for leftist people
all far extremes are bad (left or right) both are sexist, both are racist and both tend to use violences to get what they want
the problem is that the far left tend to get away with it, because most of the sexist/discrimination stuff they do is against people that most of the society doesnt care, wich is as wrong as far right people..
You sound pretty extreme to me ...... Like far far far to one side of the extreme spectrum .....
