doing a quest called cow catcher i got to the part where you kill the cows and now the guy bertham will not follow me he will stand still and not move so this quest is cant be fished and bugged out

@ubiwan done that toke me over 1 hour to get him slowly move him myself down the hill the he did swim himself cross lake the had to push him alway the rest way please test stuff bore giving to public as you get lot less work to do later on

Had the same issue. He stopped walking after he finished his dialogue and wouldn’t follow me. So I fast traveled. The quest marker was then in the wrong location. Finally found him again and he actually followed me (on his horse no less). Got him back to Winfrith and of course a “you must be anonymous” bug. So, I reloaded my last auto save. For some inexplicable reason I was drunk when it loaded. But, I went back to winfrith and the “cow-fearer” was there and I was able to complete the quest. Only took 25 minutes...

Hi, i've just started the quests of >Yule with the one in which you have to kill 4 cows. I just did it and I have to take back the NPC Betram to Winfrith but the NPC won't follow me whatever i do.

So I'm stuck at the part where I need to escort Betham back to Winfrith, but he just stands still, he won't move or follow me. I can't complete the quest; I can get him to move a little by shooting him with an arrow, and he will get on my horse but then just hop off a few seconds after.

I'm enjoying everything else in the Yule Festival. .

I had a glitch where after 4th cow killed by Bertham quest marker went roughly 1487m west of 4th cows location rather then back to Ravensthorpe and Bretham wouldn't follow me. I completed it by reloading previous save before starting the quest cow catcher I didn't track quest don't use mount to get there quicker run and avoid climbing used predator bows to kill cows from further distance and Sýnin to find areas though had general area without tracking quest. At 4th cow Bertham will kill and will collect meat sit there till he's done talking after that walk back to boat to take him back across. I went just left of all the docks as he wouldn't climb out of boat onto docks n swam rather confused where to go until I took control of boat again and he climbed in it. After on shore with Bertham go straight to his mother. quest completed and updated without being tracked. Side note the marker spoke of earlier still popped up way out west ignore it. This is what I did n had no issues. While writing all this I forgot if I collected meat from 4th cow or not. Im sorry maybe make extra save before killing your 3rd cow to be safe. I think I did collect meat as after quest was completed i have 1 meat in inventory. anyone else had my issue hope this helps.

@palmatj almost all quests of yule festival are bugged

@asryan2a He stops following if you go to the (bugged) quest marker. Just go a straight path back to Ravensthorpe.

Same here. Just left the mission for what it is.

Same thing here. I've tried boats, horses and walking. He won't get in the boats and jumps off the horses and won't walk anywhere. A buggy event just like the main game

Bug: After killing all the cows, and going back to camp, the kid (I don't remember his name) just keeps jumping off the boat and stays in the water.
fix: Use your horse to swim across the river with the boy, be sure to travel on a straight path towards the barn (leftmost side of the pier along the shores) because, if you don't, he will just keep on jumping off the river and acts like he is swimming towards the barn, but he won't. and you will have to reload again to an earlier time.

Problems with this from the start. Bertram doesn't leave the boat. I kill 3/4 cows and harvest the meat. The 4th cow dies before I can get close. I can loot the body but it stills says that I only have 3/4. The Brawl quest was bugged. The cask quest is bugged. Eivor is consistently drunk. Over 100 hours in the game and ngl on the verge of just not playing it and maybe any other Ubisoft product.

Ikr, seems like they're not even trying to release stuff for this game that's actually works.

After finding all the cattle and finishing the cut scene Bertham will follow for a short while then stop. Will not continue to follow.

@harbuggley same here. Cant bring backl Bertram to the colony. Annoying!
