

I don't mean in actual cutscene dialogue, in those they actually went to the effort to record lines for both "he" and "she". But in the open world, like a story event, NPCs will always refer to Eivor, regardless if you're playing as the male version, as "she". And don't hit me with this "canonically Eivore is female" bull. You *know* the reason both sets of dialogue haven't been recorded is a result of pure laziness. This idea that you can make a character canonically one gender but give the player the choice of playing as a man or a women anyway, it smacks of having your cake and eating it too. It totally destroys any kind of immersion when you hear someone refer to the big bearded viking as "she". Also you just know that if the genders were reversed here, if we could choose to play as a fully voiced and animated female version of a character, but the dialogue still often referred to her as "he", there would be *screaming outrage* over it and it would get patched within days. There's a god damned double standard here and you know its bloody true.
I don't see what was wrong with Odyssey's way of doing it, having two characters that you pick from, one male, one female. Hey, why not just have a female character? What would be wrong with that? Be weird in a game about vikings tbh. And the marketing knew that too. That's why we've ended up with this weird situation where when the question "can you pick your characters gender?" is asked, the only real answer is "Well yes, but actually no."
Can we at the very least, get a re-recording or the dialogue that correctly refers to the gender of the version of the character you are playing? The actual main quest cutscene dialogue does, so why not all of it?

@silenthero66 Are you seriously asking for Ubisoft to pay to re-record all dialogue to correctly say "he?" Do you know how much money that will cost?
Loads of people have had this issue and it's been confirmed as a bug by ubisoft that is under investigation
@alphagoose46219 with the helix store profits they could probably re-record the dialogue in all every game Ubisoft has ever made.
UBIsoft can't get it right from the moment they start with choices!
Gender; dialog doesn't fit,
Dialog; no chances/result/impact
Decisions; no impact etc........
He / She issue's only means, there was no interest to make 2 fitting dialog versions, or nobody has checked it or.........??
They just can get it right!

I play as female Eivor, and sometimes she's refered as "he" too. It's a bug.
@sam_boo26 This happens to me as well, playing the female Eivor. I find it kind of funny, but also it is pathetic that Ubisoft can't get this figured out. In Odyssey they never used a gender, always "they", "you" etc. That worked, but it was kind of strange.
@thecosmicbob And even in French (I've played both in French and in English), even if we don't have neutral pronouns, I don't remember meeting such a bug in Odyssey, so hopefully they'll correct this soon for Valhalla.
It's a bug. There's gendered dialog for both characters in the game Ubisoft just hasn't patched it yet.
Pretty pathetic they haven't fixed this yet, it seems like a minor bug that has been reported on since the games release.
