Cannot Progress Plucking the Quill! Since November! Got all patches and updates.

Howdy folks! I'm happy to say that this issue with the girl not speaking to Eivor during "Plucking the Quill" will be fixed in a future patch. Currently, we do not have an exact date we can share, but this information will be posted to the game's website and here on the forums, so please stay tuned.

Latest update didn’t fix this either for me. I’m posting again just to let you know that people still aren’t able to complete a game which came out FOUR MONTHS ago. Just say it out loud: “we don’t care”. Indie developers would have fixed this ASAP cause they need to earn trust and respect from their players, something Ubisoft clearly stopped caring about a long time ago, when their revenues became too high to take single-player experiences into consideration.
Maybe complaining is pointless but I’ll keep doing it. I paid 80€ for this broken game. Never gonna give money to Ubisoft, you’re just a greedy, multi-billion corporation. Stop making games, Wall Street is definitely more profitable. Make space for new developers who are actually concerned with making a fun, creative, fully playable and enjoyable experience. And last but not least, just [censored] OFF -

We're sorry to hear that this issue persisted for some of you following TU 1.1.1. Thank you all for sharing your experiences within the forums, as well as what troubleshooting steps you had tried. Please be assured that your reports were passed on to the development team for further investigation. As mentioned by my colleague @UbiExcellent, we can confirm that this issue is due to be fixed in a future patch!
At this moment in time, we cannot provide a definite ETA for this. Once we have more information to share on future updates, they will be posted within this thread or within our News & Announcements forums. Please keep an eye out in these places for the most up-to-date news!

Hello all!
Following the announcement of TU 1.2.0, I would like to reach out to you all with an update. The issue wherein the girl cannot be spoken to in "Plucking the Quill" is due to be resolved in today's update!
This update is due to be deployed 16 March, 2021 at 1PM CET/8AM EDT. You can read the patch notes and learn more here.
If the issue still persists for you following the deployment of TU 1.2.0, please can you provide us with a video that shows the following:- You have TU 1.2.0 installed. You can check this in the title menu in the bottom right-hand corner.
- You are still unable to interact with the girl to proceed with this quest.

Hi, I've been hit with progress killer of a bug. I was in Wincestre and had just completed 'Choking the Gallows'. A teal marker appeared at, I believe, the Nun's Minster to start the next mission 'Plucking the Quill' when the game crashed. Since I rebooted, the teal marker has disappeared and there is nothing I can do to get it back. I can't start the mission.
Also, because I'm a moron, I hadn't been saving along the way. So that's not an option.
I noticed that on March 16 there was meant to be ab update TU 1.2.0 to fix it, but it hasn't worked for me.
Any help is very much needed right now. -

I apologise for the delayed response. I'm sorry to hear that you've been unable to proceed in "Plucking the Quill." Is the marker still missing for you following TU 1.2.1?
If so, would you be able to provide us a video that shows the following:- Your current and completed quest log, that shows "Plucking the Quill" as your active quest and "Choking the Gallows" as completed.
- Your map, which shows the quest marker has disappeared.
We can then pass this along to the development team for further investigation.

I’m still stuck in the plucking of quill quest chosen the charisma option and now can’t talk to the girl it say I’ve got the 1.2.1 update but still doesn’t work

I'm sorry to hear that you're unable to progress in "Plucking the Quill." Would you be able to share a link to a video that shows the following:- You have the most recent Title Update installed on your platform. You can check this in the right-hand corner of the main game menu.
- Your current quest log, that shows "Plucking the Quill" as your active quest and your active objective.
- That you are unable to interact with the girl.
We can then pass this along to the development team for further investigation.

@ubi-borealis Hi I have a similar issue except that the plucking the quill quest never pops up for me after the gallows and so I can't interact with Goodwin in the church. He is standing inside with just a blue dot over his head. I'm not given an objective to see him, I just know that is supposed to be the next step in the main story from what I've seen online. Only side quests are showing so I've just been wandering the world hoping it fixes since I've downloaded all updates.

@ubi-borealis I have the latest patch but still can’t interact with the girl to progress. There is simply no option to talk with her. Tried to add the videos as suggested. But it come up with an error saying I don’t have the privileges.
i am also awaiting the fix to the Lunden quest line where I can’t start that thread. Have completed just about everything else in the game possible including the wrath of the druids expansion. This is frustrating to say the least. -

I'm sorry to hear that you've been unable to progress in "Plucking the Quill" following TU 1.2.1.
@Tortilla-6 - I can see that the development team have been investigating an issue wherein the player was unable to interact with Goodwin to begin "Plucking the Quill." The team intend to deploy a fix for this issue in a future update. We don't yet have a confirmed ETA for when this update will be released. Once we have more information to share regarding this, it will be posted via patch notes in the News & Announcements forums.
@crowmagnum12 - I'm sorry to hear that you're unable to interact with the girl. The development team have reopened the investigation into this issue following reports that it still persisted for players following TU 1.2.1. Thank you for capturing a video of the issue. I would recommend uploading the video to a sharing platform first, such as YouTube or Google Drive, and then sending us a link to the video. We can then include this video in your report to the development team.
You mention that you're having trouble starting the Lunden arc. Would you be able to clarify further for me? If you're encountering a freeze when you try to enter Lunden, I recommend checking out this ongoing Megathread about the investigation into this issue.

To help the development team to take a closer look at this, would you be able to send us a video that shows the following:- You have the latest Title Update installed on your platform. You can check this in the right-hand corner of the main game menu.
- You're unable to interact with the girl NPC to progress further in "Plucking the Quill."
We can then include this in your report to the development team.

ok, I seemed to have resolved this myself. I had all the symptoms others have been reporting - primarily not being able the get the sewer key in Wincestre, or engage with a girl etc. I’d previously completed part of the Reeve of Wincestre - certainly as far as locating Goodwin (?) in the garrison, but got distracted.
Anyway, for some reason last night (looking for something maybe I’d missed?) I went back to Randvi to view the Alliance map and hovered over Wincestre and noticed the ‘consult’ button on the panel. I remembered I’d done this previously.
However this immediately began the Reeve of Wincestre storyline, which after some minutes I realised I’d at least part done previously (I remember a lot of the dialogue), but followed it through and sure enough I end up doing the Plucking the Quill quest / talking to the girl etc - all the stuff I was stuck on previously, but this time has all played out, and I’ve got the Order clues and now completed Wincestre (yey!).
Maybe I’m just going mad.
Does someone else stuck on this want to try and see if that works for them too?
