Since I updated to Title Update 1.1.2, I started having frequent crashes. I didn't play that much before (currently I am at 25% progress), but I never had any crashes (just one which was related to NVIDIA drivers and fixed by NVIDIA). Those NVIDIA crashed were also hard crashes which let my whole PC restart, so I stopped playing until NVIDIA fixed this with new drivers.

Since the new update I get crashes n every play session and they are just random. Sometimes I play for hours with no crashes and sometimes they happen all 20 minutes or so until I stop playing because of the lost progress.

Those crashes just crash the game and don't restart the whole PC. It seems really likely that the new update is the reason behind those crashes.

Does anybody here also experience those crashes - especially since the new update?

@yesin069 in ps4 i started getting alot of freezes too, everytime i enter a big city, or im closes to one, i get a lot of freezes.. some times even crashes i have 2 sinces the updated, but the freezes are very frequent

I cannot find any relation to those crashes. They sometimes appear in the middle of nowhere in the forest just when I walk or when I fight something. This is pretty annoying when I slowly try to make raids in stealth and then those crashes let me start from the beginning (because there are no checkpoints in between).

Seems like this crash always happens when i boot up my PC and start AC in the time where my PC is on. Than it happens once at a random time and i can restart the game and play for hours without any crashes.

But if i shut my PC down and start it again (or restart) it always happens when i start the game at any time after a new PC boot-up. Then it just crashes once. Pretty strange...

No, you're not.

For me, I'm guessing the game crashes somewhere around every 2 hours of gameplay on average. The game freezes completely for roughly 15 seconds, then exits completely, followed by a window about sending in a crash report. The PC itself never restarts or crashes/freezes, like others have claimed to be the case for them - I can simply just hit play to start it up again immediately.

It's not a NVIDIA-only issue, I have an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT card.

Btw, can happen everywhere and at anytime, doesn't seem to be related to anything specific ingame.

No it is not just you.

Granted I don't have the hottest PC, since launch my GTX 1080 had been able to handle the game in Very High just fine. Never had a problem, except the flashes in cutscenes that came along with the Yule festival in december (something that they don't even care about).

Now, since the very same day River Raids dropped, my game has been crashing every 5 minutes, I had to lower my settings to frickin LOW in order to complete my raids. My drivers are up to date, nothing has changed on my machine. The only thing that changed is the game had an update. I see a clear correlation.

@yesin069 Yes, and I posted on the Technical part of the forum to explain it.

I play on Xbox One X and ever since the River Raid update I've started being kicked back to the dashboard after I complete a river raid, go to Reda to get his missions, then fast travel to an area near one of the missions. Has now happened 3 nights in a row, same sequence.

This didn't happen through my entire 300 hours of playing the main campaign so it has to have something to do with this latest update. I guess it says something that its across both console and PC.

I've moved on to other games until this is addressed.

Crashes should never happen in any game and should be adressed ASAP!

@forcefrank @Yesin069 I play on Xbox one x and have no issues (touch wood) But I do notice the odd time that I stall and cannot move and then it rectifies itself like it trying to save or something. I'm not all that tech savvy either with being an oldish player.

It's impossible to completely avoid it. I've seen devs claiming it's the hardest PC issue of all to fix, mostly due to the unlimited amounts of differences in configurations.

I'm also getting crashes. 15 min seems to be sweet spot, if it makes it past that, I can play for a few hours.

For me they are just random. Today I had no crashes after playing for 5 hours. I don't know what is going on there. Maybe it has to do with locations...

You are definitely not alone. This game has been plagued with freezes and crashes from the first patch onwards for me. It’s astounding that a game with so many bugs still manages to sell so well and be so well received. Playing on Windows 10 and on 10700K and 2080 Super. No problems with any other games.
