The Thegn of Lincoln glitch - cannot progress quest

I am currently pledged to Lincolnshire and am doing the Thegn of Lincoln quest. After reuniting Hunwald with his partner the quest took me to visit Aelfgar at his estate. Upon arriving despite Aelfgar being there with the quest objective above his head I am unable to speak to him, he simply remains seated in his house.
I have tried resetting the game, dying, pledging to a different alliance, closing the app and creating a new manual save. My most recent auto save is over 8 hours back. Please help
