@spirantcrayon22 Thanks for this. I had to climb up in the archers tower after killing everyone and wait a few minutes but the avenge quest did appear. Now I’m done with this challenge.

Just got my weirdest one. I was at Hill Gate Remnants in Sciropescire going for the Roman Artifact and an avenge quest shows up. The guy inside got killed by the three snakes. I had to confirm kill on the snakes.

This problems seems to be fixed but i would prefer other fixes faster that are much more needed and block progress or keep our inventory filled with useless stuff. But there wont be any other hotfix because there arent any more "placeholder boxes" that give us overprizd gear for free and let Ubisoft loose some money. So we have to wait two more weeks for a patch...like always. They cant just focus on the bbig problems and fix them ASAP. They need also to work on useless contenr like season events and river raids.

@yesin069 To be quite frank, I have been lucky enough on Xbox One to have not experienced any of the progress blocking bugs. The only issues I have had are with the fish spawns, a few bugged opals, the avenge quest issue, and an occasional glitch where a simple loading of a prior save was able to fix it. I also have enjoyed the game quite a bit because I do not get myself worked up over a video game. Did they make changes that I would rather they had not? Yes, but I'm not gonna spend my time on the forums complaining about it. I have other games to play if a particular game has issues, is slow to release new content, or I don't actually like the game.

Been trying for 3 days a total of 25 hours to get this location and the one with 3 hogs to spawn a revenge quest still no luck ive got 170 hours in the game now never have come across one WHHHHHY UBISOFT HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME IVE BOUGHT ALL YOUR ASSASSIN CREED GAME WHYYYYYYYYY

Oh dear! I get these little quests a lot. So you know, I've completed the game and have played it for about 600 hours. There are a couple of minor things I do more or less every day but I do spend time clearing out "enemy locations" in Hamtunscire in order to try and get diamond runes (I'm missing one, I think).

The point is that when I do this, something like a quarter of the times one of these things pops up. It's quiet and fairly easy to miss, though. Uffentune is a good location (near the north border of Hamtunscire about halfway from east to west) but I get them more or less anywhere that is some kind of enemy stronghold. That farm is a good place, or was anyway, it's where I did the "do 10" challenge.

Not sure what else to suggest, just keep clearing out these locations, hang around for a bit, move on to another. They are not so easy to see, most often I just notice the symbol at the top of the screen, in the compass, but quite a lot of the time the first clue I get is in Eagle Vision, the sort-of-circular greenish blob.

I also get them a lot lately. In random locations, but only after I stayed at the same location for 10-15 minutes to clear out the location undetected. According to Ubisoft Connect I have avenged 24 players already.

I think they changed something a week or so ago, they suddenly got a lot more common, on Xbox anyway.

I do wish they'd write something about what causes them to appear. We're all guessing without that, it's like a few other things in the game that are not really signposted.

Best tip I can offer after giving it some time and thought.

Clear out Uffentune or Clausentum Bandit Camp in Hamtunscire. Wait a few minutes. Use Eagle Vision to help spot the body (not always easy). If nothing appears try again later.

Agree, Ubisoft is not communicating very well. I’m also on Xbox (Series X), but I would find it strange if it was only improved on that platform.

After so many hours on the Xbox did you never lose your Valhalla save data? I have over 400 hours game time in Ubisoft connect, but lost more then 50 now. Lately it is getting far worse and after quick resuming the game is unplayable. I lose data, gear gets resetted, game stutters and millions of other bugs occur. Tried Watchdogs Legions this weekend and with that game also lost my savegame data after quick resuming. Game was also filled with bugs. Could not pickup items, interact with quest things etc...

Play a lot of games (Also older AC’s and Wildlands) and no others give me any problems?

Xbox One for me (S and X). No, I've not actually lost save data that I can recall, I haven't actually had many problems really. I have had maybe a dozen CTD events for no reason, especially with 1.2.0. Very occasionally Eivor just dies. Other random oddities, like Berserker gear resetting on reload the other day, but nothing that makes me want to smash up the room. Also strange choices, such as the lack of signposting on these "avenge" quests and the follow-up conversations that are in the game following World Events or story missions, the stuff left in the inventory. Nothing really bad though.

It is only after quick resuming that the problems begin. After 1.2.0 even when I go to the YouTube app on the Xbox for less then one minute or put it to sleep because somebody calls me, after I return to Valhalla the problems begin. My Beserker gear gets resetted immediately and each time, it is not random. If I continue to play after that the game gets more problems with each minute passed. I now have to restart the game each time, with the result I play it less and less. Even other games begin to crash after that. So I have to restart the whole Xbox. Can’t imagine I am the only one having this? Maybe only on the Xbox Series because of the better “quick resume”?

Could be you're right about "quick resume" but I am not completely sure - that's a Series S/X thing, right? Not on Xbox One.

On the Xbox one you also have quick resume, but only for one game. If you leave a game go to the main Xbox menu, start an app (YouTube for example) and go back to your game, it quick resumes. Also when you put the Xbox in sleep mode, the game quick resumes when you awake the Xbox.

I do not have my old Xbox one at my home anymore, so I can’t test it on an Xbox one.

Ah, right. I don't do that much other than opening Ubisoft Connect from within the game and then going back. Now you mention it I do know that facility but don't often use it; typically someone else has played another game before I get back to it so I load from scratch. It's an interesting point, though, and it might be useful for identifying bugs.

Found one today at one of the Hamtunscire camps. Didn't even have to wait--it appeared immediately after I killed the last enemy

I don't think you need anyone to go and die. The best advice I can give is to go to a camp, ie, where there are lots of bad guys. Start killing all off them. These "revenge" missions often - but not always - appear after some minutes. I found them quite a lot at Uffentune but at present they just pop up everywhere. I'm a long way in, though, finished everything in the game (except the strange problem with large fish). It's not helpful that there's so little information on what makes them appear. Some such as you don't see many, I see quite a lot - wish I could hand them out to people!
