I purchased the game recently to play on my Playstation 4. The game crashed before I even reached the title screen. Message: Cannot continue using the application. The data for the following application is corrupted. Delete the application from the PS4, and then download it again from [Library] on the home screen.
This sometimes can happen with new games. So I factory reset my PS4, downloaded the game. This was patch 1.0.1 I believe. And the game started up just fine. Played the DEMO/INTRO. 8 hours or so and tried to go to england. Crashes again. Same message, like downloading is going to help make the DEMO/INTRO a real game.
So I factory reset my PS4 again. It is my final draw, last resort work around for game crashes like that. And I download the game again. And it loads perfectly. So all those supposed bugs with Gunnar in the water and all these things were completely wrong.
So I reach england, progress through the first two level 20 power scires, and I was really enjoying the game. Then I get to Valka's hut in the settlement. Quest called In Dreams... I drink the potion at power 87 to give it a try. And the game crashes, like I was in the DEMO/INTRO trying to reach england again. Same error message as above. No option to error report to PSN.
So one last time I factory reset my PS4 hoping to again dupe my own system and progress further. I download the game. The new patch 1.1.1 is added to the game. And now all of my saves are unusable. They all crash to the error message above. I factory reset again just incase. And no luck. All saves up to 55 hours of game play crash to PS4 home screen with the above error message. Completely closing the game. So I start a new game in the DEMO/INTRO, ie. Norway, power level 1. And for some reason that works. So I play at the speed of light and skip all cutscenes and "To England!" I tried to go. No luck. Crashes with the same error message as above, with an autosave 5 save, which takes me to Layla just about to lay down in the anomoly bed. Then begins load screen and hard crashes with the same above error message.
So as a customer and player I cant help feeling like I'm locked out of England! This doesn't seem to be a bug where someone's in the wrong place on the boat or any of those supposed workarounds. I tried them all. Its more like I'm locked out of the progression of the game.
I restored all licenses on my PS4, Still no luck.
I go back to my first original save with Eivor as a female. And the game fires up, like its nothing. But I know 100% that I will not be able to progress to england. It will just crash. Whatever factory resetting did with patch 1.0.1 to access england, but crash in asgard is no longer working with patch 1.1.1.
So I'm fed up. I am out of options. What is the hang up with accessing England, and Asgard? From my prospective that loading sequence seems to be the catalyst as, I had very few bugs or errors at all for the other 55 hours of gameplay.
Please help.
Regards.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@geoffsgame wow. That sounds overwhelming (
Unfortunately, can't help here. Stuck before England as well - but for another reason. And on PC. Lost hope anyway, not playing, just waiting for a miracle patch.
I just wanted to update something I discovered while trying to get my game to work. I loaded back into my last manual save during Sea's of Fate quest. With my second playthrough attempt after patch 1.1.1. As I said it loads up Layla, Sean etc in the cabin. Everything seems to be working fine.
During my second playthrough I stuck to 1 manual save through most of it up to Sea's of Fate. Then created a second just before attempting. Trying to preserve my original playthrough saves for when the game is fixed. This was Manual Save 13.
Here's what I discovered. While accessing the laptop with Layla I pressed the left button on the D-pad and accessed Save, Load, Options Menu. I went to save yet another save game and noticed that Manual Save 13 was no longer my second playthrough prime save. It should have said Forlong or something of the sort. Instead Manual Save 13 said Grantbridgescire Like it was still the original playthrough's save. The list of Saves didnt even have the playthrough I was playing listed at all. So I used an original old playthrough save Manual Save 14. I exited the laptop tried to lie down on the bed. And went to load. And of course it crashed again.
Is this some sort of issue with Ubisoft save games? I heard they have thier own CLOUD saves. How could I play with Manual Save 13 up to the cabin with Layla and Shaun, Saving and Overwriting several times with Manual Save 13, only to use the laptop in the cabin and see Manual Save 13 untouched as my original playthrough?
When I factory reset and redownloaded the game attempting to get past that nasty error message. I would upload all my saves to PSN's Cloud. And download them once my PS4 was reset and Valhalla was reinstalled fully.
Is this why saved games are corrupted? The game is mixing up a players own Cloud or PS4 saves with Ubisofts Cloud or server saves for each players account? How do I access Ubisofts Saves of my games? When I reinstall the saves marked CLOUD in the game are no longer present. Also the autosaves from my first playthrough are gone, when I started my new playthrough. The manual save 14 I created on the laptop in the cabin was called Manual Save 14 grantbridgescire. When I restarted the game after crashing, it is now called Manual save 15 Exploration and the option for Manual Save 14 grantbridgescire still exists at the bottom of the list, even through I overwrote it with the menu on the laptop in the cabin.
