Yesterday I updated Valhalla to version 1.1.1. Since then the game always crashes and falls back to desktop after about 20 minutes of playing. Before the update I never noticed a bug or crash.
my system: Windows 10, Intel I7-8700K (not overclocked), 64GB RAM, nvidia RTX 2080Ti

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

I have the same problem and a very similar system. i7-8700k with an RTX 2080. I've also had 2 bluescreens happen before I rolled back the driver to the previous version. Now it seems to just crash to desktop. I already tried DDU for a clean install.

Here's the crashdumps (the driver version shown is wrong I had 461.09 installed):

On Fri 1/15/2021 4:21:13 AM your computer crashed or a problem was reported
    crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\011521-12890-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (0xFFFFF80223290E36)
    Bugcheck code: 0x1000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF80223290E36, 0xFFFF9188AB2E5DF8, 0xFFFF9188AB2E5630)
    Error: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M
    file path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_2635d5c616c804dc\nvlddmkm.sys
product: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 460.89
    company: NVIDIA Corporation
description: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 460.89
Bug check description: This indicates that a system thread generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 460.89 , NVIDIA Corporation).
Google query: nvlddmkm.sys NVIDIA Corporation SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M

I'll join in here too. Same problem, my specs are: RTX 3080, Ryzen 9 5900X, 16GB RAM. Nothing is overclocked. It doesn't matter what I try to do, nothing helps. Everything is up-to-date, tried all the troubleshooting guides, still crashes to desktop after 10-30mins.

@rumkugel69 I have the same specs and the same problem.
nvlddmkm.sys is always the problem module.
