I recently bought Valhalla on disk downloaded it to my Xbox Series X and downloaded the update. When starting the game it goes through the opening cinematic the screen goes through the bright white screen then stops. It then freezes and sends me back to the Xbox home screen. 

Iv have started the game again and then click on continue or start load game and it takes me to the loading page where i can move about but it then freezes and takes me back to the home screen again. 

I uninstalled then reinstalled the game and had the same issue. I then sent the disc back thinking it was a faulty disk, downloaded the game on the Microsoft store and I am again having the same issue. 

I have done a bit of looking through forums online where i have seen people have similar issues but they seem to have issues on other games as well. My Xbox runs other brand new games like COD Cold War completely fine so I dont think it is a console issue. 

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

This sounds like a frustrating and exhausting ordeal, so I apologize for the inconvenience. Moving forward, have you tried clearing your console's cache? You can do this by turning your Xbox off, unplugging it, waiting at least two minutes, then plugging it back in and restarting the game. If that doesn't help, it would be incredibly helpful if you could grab some videos exhibiting what happens upon launching the game. Thank you!
