Fishing line permanently attached & Lundon bug

2 problems
1: After reaching Lundon, I try to do the Octavian quest by paying the kid down the street to distract the main character so that I can steal the key, only for the key not being on the stool to pick up. I’ve had to start all over again because of...Surely this is a bug that needs fixing.
2: Having started over, after purchasing the fishing hut and obtaining the fishing line, the fishing line is permanently attached to Eviors arm/hand like an extra long finger, whereas it’s supposed to be hidden unless in use. Is there any way I can fix this without starting over Yet again? Or is this another bug?
