Quick Suggestions

Hi any and all at Ubisoft,

I have spent just shy of 200 hours playing your new AC game, and I would like to start off by saying that I believe it is the best in the series so far, in terms of story, graphics and especially combat. However, I do have a plethora of suggestions for improving the current game and making the DLC's more appealing.

Firstly, I have spent much time in the game fishing to get the Swordfish, and after I spent some time on the internet I read that there are some fish that simply do not appear. I have not been able to find any cod, big flatfish, big mackerel or small sturgeon. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I didn't look hard enough, but I also found that there aren't any fish far out at sea. Just a small thing.

Secondly, I would love to see some more animations for the stun attack and the right-trigger assassination, I forget the name of the move, especially for barehanded fighting. Even though I have finished the game, I still love the combat mechanics so I continue to play, and more animations would greatly improve this experience, as the animations can get kind of repetitive.

Thirdly, I was kind of disappointed to find the taming animals and no fall damage features from Odyssey were not in this game. With the diverse wildlife, taming animals would be great, especially if it applied to your ability where you can send your wolf at enemies. Also, given the many tall cliffs and buildings, I do not understand why you would remove the no fall damage feature from Odyssey, as it was highly enjoyable. It was unlocked too early in Odyssey, but it would be great if it came into effect at power level 400.

Fourthly, I hope that the Vinland region's story gets an expansion at some point. While it was quite hard, it was still quite a short arc that felt kind of pointless to set in a different area. It would be good to build on the Isu orb and modern-day aspects of Vinland/America, and I hope that in the extension of this arc that the player will be able to bring their gear with them since even after you kill Gorm you still can't bring your gear there, even though the whole point of not bringing your stuff was so that you wouldn't catch his attention. Again, little things that would make a big difference.

Lastly, I have many ideas about the DLC's. I have read that the first two will be set in Ireland and France, which is great. I am excited about the Druid cult and conquering Paris. I think other good story arcs could include Morocco/Spain, Turkey/the Middle East, tribal Africa, central/south America, Russia, and perhaps even China or Japan. I realize making all this a reality isn't doable, so I believe the best ones would be the Middle East and Central America. The Middle East arc could involve Hytham in a big way, and could, like the Ireland arc, involve a sect of the Order. The central American one could heavily involve seidr, as well as the Mayan interpretation of the end of the world, or as the Vikings would say Ragnarok. In addition, I would love to see a story arc where you go back to Norway with Sigurd and overthrow Harald to install him as King of Norway. It would be great if people from these areas would want to come back to your settlement to expand it and unlock different story arcs in England. The main thing I would want to see added to the game in these DLC's is legendary weapons, such as the Gae Bolga wielded by Cuchulainn in Celtic myth, or the Zulfiqar wielded by Ali ibn Abi Talib in Islamic myth, or Hrunting and Nægling wielded by the legendary Beowulf since there were only 3 legendary weapons in the main game (not including the swordfish), Excalibur, Mjolnir, and Gungnir. In addition, more bosses relating to local myths would be amazing, such as the Dullahan, the headless horseman from Celtic mythology, or Balor, the demon king of the Celts, or the Jormungandr, the world serpent from Viking mythology, or the Quinametzin giants of Aztec mythology. The possibilities are almost boundless, therefore it is my belief that as many suggestions should be made as possible. These are some of the mythological weapons and creatures that I know of, and I'm sure that there are many more. So if you know of any more such weapons and creatures, please do not hesitate to leave your knowledge below, and it is my hope that Ubisoft takes these suggestions to heart. Thank you for taking the time to read this lengthy rant.

    Skal!

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

"I was kind of disappointed to find the taming animals and no fall damage features from Odyssey were not in this game."

AFAIK, you're a demi-god in Odyssey, hence the no fall damage?

Taming animals wasn't really useful anyway.

    @mcdaveyyy

you do realise that everything that the season pass promises has already been made?
I mean its pretty pointless to invest time for suggestions when in fact the devs never listen or even implemented anything. I have seen this happen with odyssey as well.

You'd think that if they cant implement any suggestions into their DLC's that at least they would pick stuff up for their next installment but thats too much to ask for as well.
given the fact that entirely different ppl or a different team works on each next AC game.

Alltough not everything is bad in valhalla, many things are downright far worse then odyssey and thats a total shame.

    • For one i odnt understand how you can say that combat feels more fluid... Rush assisination was awesome in odyssey, now in valhalla when you have the advanced assisination skill it takes away much of fluid combat as it takes over 10secs to assisnate someone and then often he wont throw that axe or it doesnt trigger.
    • Dual wielding has been done some clumsy, your left hand basically doenst do [censored], but hey you can swap left with right so u use the second weapon but then in right hand again, how does that make it dual wielding?? I know you can press q to active the left hand, but it result in you parrying or often dodging.
    • what happend to the awesome customisation meny we had in Odyssey, i have played over 120hours and my hero still looks the same, it doesnt feel like i am starting to look more and more awesome the way in did in Odyssey 😞 Due to the fact that armor doesnt change when you upgrade (yeah it will look more and more gold but thats it, i pressed space on everything in order to hide, that way i can customise my hero by changing out tattoes when i have found new ones.
    • the bird doesnt do [censored] for u in this game, in Odyssey your bird did get upgrades the synchronisation point you did find.
    • loot is another big problem in valhalla, enemies drop nothing even bosses dont drop stuff. Some of the best items are behind a paywall in their ingame store or even the best bow is from ubisoft points, thats doesnt feel rewarding at all. In order to get good gear you need to look up youtube and run to chests all over the world, i hate that system.

One big reason they never take suggestions outside of their devs is legal problems and that's one thing Ubisoft, nor any company, want or need. If you need an example think of all the people who've said sure,go ahead and record my song, it's great publicity, than the band does and then years later that person wants millions in royalties.Don't ever expect Ubisoft to take anyones suggestion in this sue happy nation. Also Ubisoft only tends to act if a part of the public has been offended, like in the case of Legacy of the first blade
The game was unfinished and it's painfully obvious by the lack of interaction with characters,if you need more my guess is they did intend a few ship battles though not nearly as much as Odyssey by the 1500 m of oceans just sitting to the right, circle the water takes quite a while to do it,they could have put the animus wall much closer at 250 m.How about the constant repetitive dialog, how many people are tired of hearing"you and Petra chasing a white elk"every time you go to the hunter? The most glaring are the numerous amount of bugs in the game which turned us all into beta testers!
No, I for one really wish the team who made Odyssey would have made Valhalla, they paid attention to detail and made the game meaningful I think it would have been a whole new game.Still hope for Valhalla though, just have to wait and see!

@nerdlor I'd rather pet Sunin, petting Ikaros was so cute. 😞

The biggest improvement I could think of is simply, Have more people beta test the game. if AC is going to continue in this Open-World Style RPG system Send out Beta Tester keys to 100k Active Ubisoft Connect Players. The Beta Testers Would be prompted to give any feedback at the end of their session every time they load the game, and if they recorded the gameplay to send it as an attachment to help the devs understand what issues exist, so this doesn't happen to the next launch. Have Beta testers agree to an NDA that appears before downloading the game so any recordings can't be published before a certain date.

Another improvement would be to fix the inventory bug for duplicating armor cause I have 2 huntsmen and 2 Gallogach (Butchered Spelling) torso armors. my buddy has 15 huntsman chests. I have no idea how to remove the extra.

Dual wielding is pretty lame in this game & underwhelming. Spear & Shield are pretty powerful. with reach and defense for those playing on Drengr settings.

The Settlement Wolf should be able to be pet, same with Sunin, the Fox & the Boat cat you acquire. just little stuff makes the game so much better.

Add the transmog (Armor appearance changer) back in from odyssey.

Add a sunin progression system like Origins and Odyssey had for Senu & Ikoros

I might be alone on this one but i've been going back and forth between origins, odyssey and Valhalla lately and the combat in odyssey was the smoothest by far. Valhalla a good second. so the combat isn't so bad just some of the abilities do break the smoothness in combat as stated before.

The loot in valhalla is fine, I do think adds should drop more resources the higher their level.

The store I think is the worst thing Ubi has done to the AC series and I wish they'd get rid of it. but it makes money after the initial release so that won't happen any time soon.

I don't think Valhalla is the greatest AC game to date. I still think ACII is the best but Valhalla does rank in my top 6. personally the story for me wasn't the best it felt very patched together with the order and the alliance map being fairly seperated most of the time. I think the Order should have been what directly moved eivor throughout the game making him go from one area to another to fight them and along the way, he built this alliance of his to protect his clan and to keep his oath to sigurd. Would've been good to build up to a moment between Eivor and Haythm on if he would join the Hidden Ones or not, would've been cool but sadly a missed opportunity imo.

these are some of my thought not all but a few of them.

I have been enjoying this game very much. Yes, there has been some bugs I have came across, a couple I even needed to restart my console and reload the game to fix, but for the most part the game has been excellent.

I strongly believe this game has an excellent foundation to build on and continue to add more over the years to come, however the realistic part of me thinks after the few expansions come out in 2021 this game slowly be forgotten about. I really hope I am wrong about that.

Why not keep adding more armor, more weapons, more quests, more things to do within your settlement. More tattoos, more hair styles, maybe even some stuff you can customize your horse more with like custom saddles etc.

Why not add in the game where I can actually forge my own weapons? Like when my character walks up to the anvil you can actually see him making the weapons and armor?

I'm spitballing here but the options are endless. I'm truly having more fun with this game than I have had with any other game in a very long time. It would be a shame to see this great opportunity to just slowly fade away.

I'm copy pasting a issue I have with Valhalla difficulties

"I have been discussing this for a long time with a multitude of players. And I'd like to bring it up to Ubisoft. When AC as a game series was created and started it was a lot more challenging due to it being assassination focused. I do enjoy the new combat dynamics and love the abilities and developments the Ubisoft teams have created and how they have improved the game. But I and a lot of others believe it has also made the AC games, especially AC Valhalla extremely easy. I play AC games only on the hardest difficulty available. And AC Valhalla is by far the easiest AC game I have ever played. I love the combat dynamics and improvements to game play and variation of game play styles. But I would like it to be a lot more challenging. I find it too easy and so does a lot of other players. Today in a Discord chat I have spoken to some players about it, again, and we had some great ideas I'd like to share with you. First of all we would like the Drenger difficulty to have a new and more challenging difficulty added called Ragnarock difficulty and the Nightmare difficulty to have a new and more challenging difficulty added that would be called Oblivion difficulty. Those names are appropriate and I hope Ubisoft would use them. Here is some more information on what we would like to see. I am including screenshots of the conversation as well so you and the development teams can read todays conversation for your selves. We would like to see all crossbow arrows pierce shields on these improved difficulties, dealing damage trough shields and substantially more damage when no shield is used for protection (like taking away a third of a players health when no shield is used and one fifth of a players health when a shield is used while also causing a staggering effect and potentially stunning the player for 2 seconds) , also on these improved difficulties we would like to see the NPC's be more strategis and circle the player and strategically attack in unison in order to make it more difficult for the player to parry or dodge all attacks and force the player to play smarter in order to take less damage, and on these improved difficulties we would like to see the NPC's dealing more damage to the player and taking less damage from the player, creating more adequate of an opportunity for players to use abilities and to use the abilities more adequatelly."
