PS5 freezing (new years eve)

The game has been freezing. A lot! I'm 155 hours in and trying to get the last few trophies. Last night when playing at Hadrians Wall, Eivor was being covered in pixilated fog. It was just a slight large pixel haze in the sky at first but after a little was solid purple and blankets the entire screen. Opening the map and returning clears this up but freezing began to occur shortly after. This is something that used to happen before any of the patches. This too was usually followed by freezing after awhile but not at the frequency as this. After closing and reloading dozen or so times last night it froze quicker and quicker from the load. Also noticed small purple/pink glitchy-ness before too
It is the game that is freezing as I can still pull up my menu and navigate everything.
Fearing maybe the system was hot from playing for a long time I shut it down and tried again this morning. Now it freezes at the title menu every time. I can no longer play my game.
Are there any patches or updates on the way to navigate this?
