Ok, I am not playing right now, but from what I have read and seen the first big update including Yule festival is just a timed event?

So lets say I am a customer who buys AC Valhalla (Gold or Ultimate Edition doesnt really matter) in a month or so I would not be able ever to experience this dlc? Not able to do any quests there and obtain any of the gear?

If this is true, really a great way to improve your game and reputation Ubi 🙂 Forcing players to play you game 24/7 so they dont miss the timed content and then remove the content entirely making it unacessible for all who miss it 😄

God is this a single player game or an MMO for god sake ... timed events thats a awesome idea really.....

Edit: When you buy a SINGLE PLAYER game, you should never be afraid of missing any content ever!!! OMG this game ...

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@alex-18k Doesn matter what it is, the point is that is a timed content in a single player game, thats ok to you? In an MMO sure, but in a single player game?? Seriously, so just because a potential customer doesnt manage to buy the game on time or just dont want to play right now he is loosing content??

@martygod12 This is not the first time they have had limited time events in AC games. Black Flag had community events that awarded gear and weapons that you could not unlock unless you had participated in the event. They have also tied some rewards in Ubisoft Club (Connect) to limited time events. In Odyssey you had to log in weekly to kill a Mercenary or a Legendary Ship. As of the last time I played Odyssey you could only get the Legendary Sails from those ships, so those are limited time events that are spread out over more than a year.

Not saying I agree with it, but it is not new to AC games.

Well like most world events they repeat.

They are not forcing you to play.

Most single player games are now connected online now if you haven't noticed. This is a good thing

@martygod12 It's almost certainly going to be available again next December. Maybe all the bugs will even be fixed by then.

@martygod12 I personally really enjoy seasonal/timed events like the Yule event that reflect what is going on in the world at a specific point in time. The Yule event wouldn’t be relevant in March, it’s only relevant around the Winter Solstice. It would be silly any other time if the year.

The Yule event convinced me to take another stab at Valhalla. Investing more time into the game means that I’ve finally found some merit in this (slow as molasses in January to develop the story) game, and I’m enjoying it at this point. I thought the Yule event was quaint, but it disappeared on me.
