    Long time Ac fan and Far Cry fan, loved both franchises. But this Valhalla title has me shaking my head in disbelief. After the new and interesting directions the franchise took with Origins and Odyssey, I was really looking forward to seeing how they would fair in their next installment. After putting well over 200 hours into Odyssey, I leapt into Valhalla hoping for more of the same, what I got was a shoddy combat system, and a broken parkour system. Now we all know the best parkour system was AC II, but I could handle the style of Odyssey, because the combat at least felt fluid. Valhalla is a true dog's breakfast, it has made me uninstall it never to be re-installed, because it's a mechanic that really can't be fixed with a patch. This is just a shambles. I will be very cautious about buying AC games in future, waiting at least until I hear some of the old mechanics, and combat systems returned.

    Also what the hell were you thinking with all those glowing balls all over the place? talking about freaking annoying. What was wrong with the symbol system you used in Odyssey?

    Rant over, very disappointed.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Just curious but what do you mean with glowing balls all over the place? I dont understand.

    What should be done differently parkour wise, i remember many ppl complain about that in odyssey and mostly the lack of said parkour. Although i am not 100% happy with valhalla either the parkour section for sure is more deiverse as opposed to odyssey

    @asgardian02 "Glowing balls"

    I am talking about the gold loot indicators and blue points of interest on the compass, compared to Odyssey which I've just finished playing for the moment, it is severely annoying.

    The parkour feels laboured and slow, as well as not even responding sometimes to going in the direction you want. Odyssey wasn't great either but still feels smoother. AC II and Unity had the best parkour, whilst it's unrealistic to expect those levels, it should be at least as good as Odyssey or Syndicate.

    After two astonishing titles (Origins and Odyssey) they released a mediocrity tainted title, shallow, unfinished, uninteresting, without replayability value, without immersion. A strictly speaking reskin of Origins would have been ten times better. They failed at reinventing the wheel.

    What is the most irritating is that without the awfull amount of chests to loot and crapy side activities like stone piling(this should die seriously it's more annoying than fun)and stupid flying paper(Why bring it back?It was already annoying in black blag to the point most people just stood where it appears to loot them at repop)well without those the story itself is way too short.While developing the colony is interesting having to obey Sigurd which is a fool with delusions of grandeur bored me to no end.I wish you could just kill him or beat the crap of him.I left him in the cave at the end.From the time he said I'm your jarl you just have to obey yada yada I wanted to kill him.Dude I'm not your [censored] slave.The raids are a joke,you can just rush to the ressources without having to kill anything or nearly so.You finish them in less than 5mn.While using a battering ram during the sieges is a good idea,the controls are bad and it takes forever to break through a gate.Between all of this this game to me has no replay value.Boring story,boring side activities,I'd rather have a longer compelling story than spending my time looting chests,roman artifacts and destroying cursed symbols.To me questing is more intresting than looting.Equipment should be gained during quests,not just be in chests.I like the gameplay and the skill system though.Having at last access to every skill was good.Having to go online in unity to get some skill points to get skills was annoying as hell.Most people didn"t even bother doing the mission,it was a rush to the skill [censored].
    Sadly the DLCs will probably be the same.Well maybe the story will be better but I fear it will just be a lootfest with gae bolg in the druid expansion as the prize.More stone piling crap,more standing stones,countless chests on the map to loot.Sadly I have the pass so I'll probably still play it hoping for a better experience.

    The arrows trails.....those friggen arrow trails. Those get me every time. They're terrible and distracting; those are my glowing balls, lol. But I get what you mean. Things still feel clunky as hell and trying to fight while the camera changes to something taken from the international space station is a real immersion-breaker as well.
