I'm trying SO hard to enjoy this game but between being plagued with bugs, wildly uneven combat and a resource system that makes upgrading your settlement like pulling teeth (seriously either give us more monestaries or don't make them mandatory for building especially at low <100 level) this just isn't fun.

Between this and Cyberpunk, I'm never buying a new game that's rushed out to make holiday sales.

This game has tremendous potential and IS a lot of fun when you're scratching the surface.

But as the game progresses and you start discovering more and more issues (seriously at this point I'm waiting for Keanu Reeves to come out and say "that we have a castle to burn " it's so buggy) it starts to take a toll.

these things do not seem like much individually but the more they pile on, the more frustrating and less fun it gets.

I'm going to hang this up for a while. Wait for Ubi to HOPEFULLY start releasing bug patches. Maybe by spring it'll be ready to fulfill its own potential.

The best advice I can give any new player is: try it out, get a 30 hours in or so and then determine whether or not you can overlook its myriad of technical and pacing issues.

And if for some reason you cannot complete a quest, find an item, defeat a certain enemy (*cough* Zealots *cough*) doubt the game first, not your skills as a player.

By the way, an assassin's creed game without a kick [censored] strategy guide to collect is inconceivable. And yet.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

i waited a month with this game, but next ac game ill wait far longer until also all DLC has been released, i am no fan on the season pass and that way i will get a fully finished game.

Waiting in between those season pass dlc's really takes you out of teh story

@asgardian02 But then you miss beggar farming, ingot farming, gem duping, infinite xp from lynxes, all the good stuff. 😛

@deaconrayne on the other hand you might want to play it before they break it further lol

@deaconrayne Here's my beef with this game... "Write your own Viking saga" makes absolutely no sense because there is a canon ending so your choices don't matter anyway. 😑

Teacher: "Write down whatever you want for homework." 🙂

@neovoltron sorry what is a canon ending?
arent there multiple different endings based upon the choices you made throughout the entire game?

@asgardian02 canon ending is the "official" ending choice by ubisoft, just like the "Canon" gender is female eivor, even though they told that you can "choice" the gender.....

[censored] man its been almost two months and i cant even launch the game. ubi support is no help and the devs even said that the splash screen issue was fixed even though i have it happening to me right now lmao. they either have no idea what the hell they are doing or they genuinely don't care. also i've tried getting a refund as i cant even launch the game and they denied me so ubi can go [censored] themselves 🙂

@karloz1995 They actually said that both gender choices are canon. Which also makes no sense.

@neovoltron It does make sense if you go through the game in "Animus Choose" mode.

Canon is that the Viking era Eivor is female and

It is sad "humans" are nothing more than animals to be farmed and experimented on for wealth. In essence, that is all we are for corporations. That is why quality and substance are in decline.

Oh man just by this i can go on a very long page rant, but i will just agree with you 100% and only add.. we can choose like to buy or not.

I will NOT buy ubisoft games again, nope sorry.. HUGE PRAISE to them for ORIGINS and ODYSSEY.. i just don't understand why not get the BEST parts of both ACO's and improve/make something spectacular - now we don't have many things like a ship, many armors/weapons, mercenaries, arena, horse fights, relevant senu/ikaros and IMMERSIVE / LIVELY world and so and so and so ... i can go on but nevermind.

@deaconrayne What platform are you playing on? I'm on Xbox One X and except for the recent hangover deal I've not had any issues/glitches save for 2 screen freeze situations in over 180 hours of gameplay. I think I'm 75 percent finished with the main story.

I'll grant you the settlement progression is getting weird. I'm level 230 I believe and I just hit settlement level 5. The first 4 levels seemed like they came really quickly, but getting to level 5 has been a chore and I can't imagine what it'll be getting to 6. I'm doing the level 250 raid to give myself some competition but all the rest seem to have disappeared, at least last night they did.

The only other thing is Tungsten ingots have pretty much gone bye bye. I'm not sure why, but that's why I've been focusing on getting the settlement to level 6 so I can at least buy them. That won't happen for awhile now so I'm not sure what to do now. I don't want to finish the story without having the fun of getting my armor to full strength, so, what's next!? I guess I could focus on finding and killing the ancients.

Oh, I think this speaks to your other issue, zealots. I met one about 50 levels ago and let's just say I got annihilated, destroyed, obliterated!!!!! I was 10-15 levels higher than said zealot at the time. I fought one last night that I had fought before, I was over 100 levels higher and just barely beat him, barely!!!!!

@rankinsect Um, no... "Let the ANIMUS choose" option (which is also the "intended/canon" option) makes your character female Eivor the entire game except during the mythical arcs...

    spoiler

Thus, proving my point that a male Eivor makes no sense to be regarded as "canon."

@rankinsect Also, within the context of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's universe, the male counterpart never canonically existed as "Eivor." Even when you play as male Eivor you're stuck with female pronouns and your full name is Eivor Varinsdottir which means Eivor - Daughter of Varin.

@neovoltron so sad when political agendas trying to enter videogames and ruin them....

@bizantura sad true, i have see people complaining at people who are demanding to get the bugs fixed and also make ubisoft to increase the variety of obtanaible weapons/armours... like if this kind of stuff affects them, if they already like the current state of the game, i dont see how is going to be problem for them if ubisoft fix the bugs and also increasy variety in gear... like i dont know if this people have brains or where really expecting everyone to writted only the good stuff about the game here... ridiculous kind of people
