I unlocked the fishing hut a long time ago but I have never caught a fish. Using Odin's Sight, I've watched the fish closely and when one approaches my lure, it leaps backward and out of the water the second it appears to touch the lure. I have tried meditating and making sure there are plenty of fish where I am, and I've waited for over five minutes with my lure in the water. This has been happening since I first attempted to fish.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@geedlet Dont ever wait with the lure in the water. Use odin sight to spot the fish. When you see the fish you want, throw your lure directly at it. Keep using odin sight. Spam it. Then you will see how the fish will circle your lure. When you throw your lure in the water with fish, only 1 fish can and will be set to bite with a 100 percent chance in a matter of seconds. This is not a fishing simulator. Moving your lure to the side will make it bite faster. When it bites then hook the fish and reel it in. Real easy process but if you dont like it then use your bow.

Only coastal fishing is under investigation. Because the big variants of flatfish & mackerel (Norway) do not spawn. As well as big eels.
And the spawning in general ... waves seem to be an issue etc ...

Fishing in the countryside is more or less okay.
Although i found to toss the lure directly at the fish makes them keep circling it.

Usually i throw a little away from the desired fish, and it will swim directly to the lure, and biting. Without having to yank the lure.
Then (on pc) i just keep pressing space, direction buttons never really did anything for me.
When you use Odin's sight, and there's no fish - move somewhere else. Tossing the lure won't make fish spawn to bite it.

And a bow is fine to. Bigger fish are easier that way, no need to bash your keyboard to reel 'em in.
Also, try to refrain from using your longship to spawn to fast travel point, makes fish disappear.

I tried both of these approaches and neither has worked. I tried throwing it directly at the fish, same thing happened. I tried throwing it AWAY from the fish, same thing happened. The fish circles the lure, jumps around or over it, and then f***s right off. As I type this, I've been sitting with my lure in the water the whole time and nothing has changed.

I don't know why I'm being told "this isn't an issue" when really what seems to be going on is that I have a bug that you guys don't seem to have...?

Also, no, using my bow and arrow does not work equally well because I don't get the Good Catch! trophy without using the line...

@geedlet Have you to tried to yank the lure a little when the fish circles it? Your issue with fishing is nothing that's been posted before i think. Perhaps show a small video to observe the problem?
