    Hello.
I've been meaning to buy this game and I was wondering if I can get an answer to this question of mine before purchase. Does an area, such as an outpost or a stronghold or any places such as those, stay cleared once you complete the place? I would appreciate it if I can learn about this.
    Please and thank you.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@hwanah The camps and forts do repopulate, but the rewards do not. Pretty much the same as Odyssey if you played that.

@jcar4327 Only in Odyssey you got lots of loot from killing soldiers, weapons you could sell or dismantle. In Valhalla you get nothing worthwhile from kills.

Enemies do respawn but chests do not just like in Odyssey.

Oh, I see! Just like Odyssey, got it. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Stay safe and well, merry Christmas.

Also once you clear a castle/fortress via the Siege gameplay, you cannot Siege it again. As the others have said though, the enemies still repopulate, you'll just be alone when you kill them and get no rewards. The only exception is if a fortress looking area can be raided.

@fylkirpanzer There is no siege gameplay outside of story mode at all and story mode doesn't repeat. (There also is no Newgame Plus, at least not yet, but since gear does not matter so much in this game you can just do a simple new game for replay.
Raids (which are independent of story mode) can be repeated but without the rewards only.
There will be a repeatable "river raid" feature in February though.

@kormac67 I know that Sieges are tied to region story arcs. What I'm saying is that once Sieges are completed, you cannot do them again. I'm well aware of how all the mechanics work thanks. Hopefully River Raids will offer something worth the effort, I'm interested to see how they're implemented.
