Assassin's Creed had a lot of protagonists Who felt love and for me it is an important thing that a protagonist has someone of special in his/her life, because we know very well how much the assassin's life can be bad.
Anyhow in Odyssey and Valhalla the romances aren't default and the we can choose our lover,but this thing a bit ruin the franchise, because like I said the romances can be very important in the story of the game,but if someone can be romanced, we won't get the same effect of the other games.
The only thing Ubisoft can do,but that the probably won't do anymore,is putting a default romance like in Odyssey.
Personally I am one of the few people who liked that romance.
I've always thought that my version of Alexios at a certain point would chossed to have a family,but like I said this thing will change in Valhalla.
We have the possibility to have also a long term relationship,but I had thought it would have worked different.
They said that after a group of missions you could date your lover in the settlement,but this thing doesn't have an impact on the story.
After the East Anglia story,I finished the Petra's missions and began a romance with her.I liked the fact that finally I could have a "real" girlfriend,but with the time my opinion has changed.
During the story a lot of important events happen in the Eivor's life,also in the settlement.
And when these happen,what does Petra do?
Nothing!
She is my girlfriend,but She practally doesn't care me.
This One of the reasons because of I began a relationship with Randvi After the Gunnar's wedding.
She has been more present in the story.
Also if Petra was my girlfriend,it seemed that Randvi was her.
So I hope that in the next DLCs,also the new yule festival,and in the next games we will feel more the impact of the romances in the missions.

@cap-cla As I see it the whole romance stuff in valhalla is but an afterthought, so they can put the romance into the adverts. There was absolutely no love going into that.
I do NOT expect sex-scenes, but a bit of care for details and maybe a little side story, like more than one excursion with Randvi, or gifts that trigger some reactions or even more than one cut scene for kissing and making out....
In Odyssey there were, for one thing, more possibilities, a giggle here and there, but then if Odyssey was a bit of a neglected child, Valhalla is an Urchin...

You're not alone. I also enjoyed the romance with Natakas (I played as Kassandra) in Odyssey and I legit cried when he died and I had to give up our baby.

I doubt I'll cry in Valhalla though. The romances seem meaningless. Since they went all RPG, I'm all for giving us the option to romance but if we can't build upon it in a meaningful way, then they might as well just take it away. Romance scenes in games are cheesy and awkward when they're fleeing and don't personally matter much to our character.

About this,what I wanted to say is that there is more passion in this scene than in all the romances.And a scene like this is very difficult to get if Ubisoft continue to go on this path

I would also prefer if the romances were more meaningful. I'm also part of the people who enjoy Kassandra and Natakas's romance, and I would prefer something meaningful like this one, or like the ones we had in the past AC games.

I don't want to romance Randvi, but it's annoying that she's the only one that has something to do with the story. I hope they will change this eventually.

It's likely that the end will be the next game or its sequel.Anyhow,I noticed that Shay could be an Eivor's descendant and the first the DLC is set in his country.So will it be a second Legacy?
