I have this too! All day long

Is it possible that Valhalla doesn't like being installed on NVME drives? I moved the install folder off of my C (w/ operating system) onto a non-nvme drive. After that it loaded and works fine. Until now I got infinite splash screen and nothing else. This was after trying every other suggestion I could find.

The only other difference I can think of between the drives is the C (nvme - didn't work) has 4k sectors while the D (m.2 SATA - works) has 512 sectors.

    Hopefully this helps someone

Does anyone have an actual fix for getting stuck on the splash screen? You know, since Ubisoft doesn't know.

I've tried every single thing mentioned on these forums and have yet to find a solution that works. Seems like they're just going to have to patch it.

    I FINALLY DID IT.
Spent about a whole day trying to get this game to work. It kept on letting me get past the difficulty selections and into the first 5 seconds of the scene, then it would crash.

By the way I'm completely new to pc gaming, and I know just about nothing about it.
I had a hard time trying these solutions, because I don't really know any computer verbiage. I tried running as admin, moving the files from my computer to ssd, uninstalling and reinstalling UPlay, and a few others.

It finally worked after downloading the GEForce game thing. I don't even know what it is lmao.
But here's the link https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/ where I downloaded the most updated version and it finally let me play the game!

    Good luck

Hey there Fun_Yun and emmaj95! I'm terribly sorry to hear you've both been unable to progress past the splash screen! The team is currently investigating this issue, however, we have found that some players are experiencing this issue due to their game being installed on a Microsoft Storage Space Device. We kindly ask if you could please take a look over our guide to determine if your game has installed there. If it is, please reinstall your game into a standard hard drive space, and test out the game again. This should allow your game to run properly.

@ubikoreanbbq No MSSDs on my PC. I originally had put both Ubi Connect and Valhalla on my C drive with my OS. Then tried them on an HHD drive and still nothing. My bf revealed that he had gotten me an NVME drive for my birthday next week and gave it to me early today so I could try it-- still the same problem.

13182165 is my case number, I have been keeping it updated with the things I have tried and observed but have yet to get an official response. When I contacted Ubisoft through chat they saw nothing with my dxdiag or msinfo files that could have caused it. So I'm sort of out of ideas at this point.

Issue is known throughout - i believe - all of Assassin's Creed. If you have multiple drives, then you need to uninstall it and then install it on the same drive, where Windows is located. You'll find it by going in the explorer and then under >This PC< there should be a drive that has a Windows logo on it, often called the 😄 Drive.

yep, installed on same drive as windows, drivers updated and installed, ran as admin, verified files, uninstalled and reinstalled game. nothing. freaking. works.
funny thing is, i actually got to talk to support with no problem. asked for a link to refund and they said they would send an email out letting me refund, lo and behold 5-6 hours later and STILL no email. they genuinely do not give a [censored] about us.

Ah, okay. I appreciate this extra info. I looked over your ticket and see that you've exhausted troubleshooting for the issue at hand. You mentioned that you're no longer getting the infinite splash screen and instead are crashing on launch. Can you let me know if the game is presenting any error codes/messages after it has crashed?

@ubikoreanbbq Thanks for taking the time to look at my ticket! When the splash screen crashes, it just has a popup that says "Oh no, it crashed!" with a button to submit a crash report, which I've definitely been doing every time. No specific error code though.
