    Hello there!

@xrayspex_73 - Thank you for your kind words. We are trying to update you as frequently as we can regarding the investigation into the missing large mackerel and flatfish. Please be assured that once we have any new updates to share, they will be posted within this thread.

@grahamfischer - Please note that the development team do not post in the forums. They are actively investigating this issue further, and the player support team, such as myself and @Ubi-Woofer, are regularly passing along your reports, feedback and suggestions to them as part of the investigation. We are unable to share unconfirmed details from the investigations, such as details regarding fixes or providing ETAs when there are none confirmed. As soon as we are provided with new information from the investigation, we aim to update you all with this as soon as possible.

    Thank you 🙂

@ubi-borealis @Ubi-Woofer so just to clarify, this bug won't be fixed in next weeks update?

    Hello there @guest-9dkaJoe4!

Currently, we are unable to confirm when this issue will be resolved, or which update this will be included in. We are also unable to provide a definite date for this. Once we have more information regarding an ETA for a fix from the development team, it will be shared within the forums.

I would recommend keeping an eye out within the News & Announcements forums for any new patch note releases, as these will have more information on what will be addressed within the update being deployed.

    Thanks!

@ubi-borealis hi, the reason i asked is as i previously said to woofer, if you can help players with our expectations on fixes to bugs it does help. It was clarified the known issue log had been updated/amended to show what will hopefully be fixed in the next update and what was still under investigation.

because the fish bug is showing as under investigation that suggests it won't be fixed in the next update. Im not asking for dates of when it will be fixed, just to confirm it won't be fixed in next weeks update. Because otherwise people might presume, oh here comes an update, the fish bug will be fixed but if we're already aware it won't be, that helps with the managing of expectations. Thanks

@guest-9dkajoe4 theyre trying to tell you they arent working on it at all, and it doesnt seem like they have any intention to do so. there isnt a team currently working on this or looking at it. thats why we havent got any info since launch. why does this topic cause them so much spite? why cant we just fix the fish please?

@grahamfischer looking at the known issues, there's a lot of bugs to fix for sure. I'd expect this one is low down the list, annoying as that is, its also being realistic unfortunately

    Hello,

I do not normally complain on Ubisoft forums but the fishing in this game is becoming so bl***y frustrating I want to scream at Ubisoft. 4 months on and fishing is still so frustratingly bugged to hell. I have had fish fall through the map when fishing with a bow and arrow, trying to catch large fish in this game is impossible because they do not exist, and you would have better luck finding hens teeth because they don't exist, and I have 3 challenges left in the Fish Hut I want to finish, and it is so frustrating that we cannot do them because it is so bugged.

I know the locations for the below fish and finding them you would have more of a chance finding the Loch Ness Monster. all you find in Norway is small Hake and small Mackerel, you will not find any large fish at all and all I find in Norway is Red Fish. Fishing has been bugged in this game from launch and I just cannot see this being fixed at all to be honest.

    England:
    Flatfish Large (Do Not Exist)

    Norway:
    Mackerel Big
    Hake Reg
    Arctic Char Reg
    Hake Big

Is anyone else still having issues finding fish? I have no luck finding flat big fish or small sturgeon. Every time i find a small sturgeon its like they dont exist, same for big flat fish. And it seems like every time i find one, i bring it in and the size changes to regular. Im not sure if its my ps4 or what, i tried every location they would spawn at and no luck at all.

It also seems like bream are just in ever spot possible, almost like theyre the only costal fish to catch.

I dont know whats going on, but im losing it trying to find fish still.

    Any suggestions or thoughts?

@jester95_ Small sturgeon do exist. There are a couple spots to get them, but the best spot seems to be near the Rouecistre Blockade in Cent. If you travel up river from the blockade you will find a ruined aqueduct at the river's edge. Between the blockade and that ruined aqueduct is where I have gotten the small sturgeon. Also, if you check out this thread:

Unable to find big Flatfish/Mackerel and small Halibut/Sturgeon while fishing | POST HERE | Ubisoft Forums

you will find some videos showing this location and how to catch the small sturgeon. One method that I find works for me is to use photo mode. I hate photo mode, but for this it works well. After you highlight the fish with Odin's Sight immediately go into photo mode. You can then look around and get closer to the fish to tell what kind of fish they are. The small sturgeon swim in groups of 5.

As to the big flatfish, they are currently unavailable in the game. This is also true, apparently, for the big mackerel in Norway. Ubisoft is aware and working to correct the issue.

@jester95_ Sorry to hear your frustration. I'm sure devs know the state of fishing and will do or are doing something about it. I guess, so far, it just isn't their priority. Let's have some more patience and see where our next update goes.

@jcar4327 can confirm what he said.

Fish between the half stone bridge (covered with a grass on top) and the fort/blockade at Rouecistre. Just caught 10 of the little blighters near the broken stone bridge there.

I swear I've had two Big Flatfish on my line off the coast of Cent & Essex but it seems impossible to reel them in.

    Never seen a Big Mackerel.

@jester95_ The little flyer thing you buy from Yanli does actually say "rivers and seas" for the sturgeon. I can't say I have found a big one in the rivers, but definitely small and regular. Glad you wee able to find them. At this point I am only waiting for the big flatfish and mackerel issue to be fixed. Hopefully they will be able to fix it this patch.

@o-e-smith Thanks for catching that the aqueduct is actually a bridge. I never really paid that close attention to it, but you made me have to go look. I will have to correct my description for future posts.
