    I downloaded the update and not expecting it to be fixed, but hallelujah, my quest marker is back. Thanks for finally getting this fixed - now to finish the game!

    The update fixed "Missing quest Objectives/markers" and "Unable to investifate the bodies in Roaring Meg's Spring / the sewers due to them being missing" for me ! Thanks for keeping us informed. Glad it's fixed even if it took like 7 months, I'm finally able to finish the game.

    after reaching the springs cave, where you have to investigate the cave, it doesn't register the progress of the investigation.
    it also doesn't allow me anymore to investigate the bodies.
    i can't progress in the game now. please help to fix this problem.

    for me it's still not working, i have version 1.2.2 but i can't investigate the scene.
    its stalled at 1/3
    the hidden letter was registere in the progress, but the bodies remain unable to investigate further for the story.

    @rkg001 Hi there! I am sorry to hear that you are running into this issue with the Quest In the Absence of an Ealdorman . This issue should have been resolved with the newest update. However, if it is still occuring for you would you be willing to send me a picture showing your game as fully updated to look further into this for you? Thank you so much!

    Thanks for reaching out! I've checked in with the development team, and it looks like they'll be deploying a fix for this issue when investigating Roaring Meg's Spring in a future update! We don't yet have a confirmed ETA for when this fix will be deployed. As soon as we have more definite information to share, we will let you know within this thread and via patch notes in the News & Announcements forum.

    Hello there!

    I'd like to reach out to you all with an update. The development team have confirmed that they have deployed a fix in TU 1.3.1 for the issue wherein players were unable to complete the investigation. This issue should now be resolved.

    This means that all ongoing issues with "The Absence of an Ealdorman" should now be resolved, and we will be marking this thread as such. If you are still encountering issues with "In the Absence of an Ealdorman" following TU 1.3.1, please don't hesitate to update this thread so we can take a closer look. Please include a video that shows the following:

    • You have the latest Title Update installed on your platform. You can view this information in the main game menu in the bottom right-hand corner.
    • The issue that you are still experiencing in-game when progressing through "In the Absence of an Ealdorman."


    I'd recommend uploading any videos to a sharing platform, such as YouTube or Google Drive, as this will allow you to post a shareable link within this thread.

    @ubi-borealis for information, because I left that game in quite some rage, what I did is :

    • 1 : uninstall the game
    • 2 : rage a little because that was my prefered AC so far (played each)
    • 3 : wait 6 monthes
    • 4 : received the AC Brotherhood of Venice kickstarter boardgame
    • 5 : played it a lot
    • 6 : got the AC virus again
    • 7 : reinstall the game yesterday
    • 8 : played through the whole Elderman mission, AND COMPLETE IT


    So, this is a complete win for me. If that happened for some people, I'm not sure step 2-6 are mandatory, but this is fixed now !
