I too have the new Xbox Series X controller, playing on Windows 10 and the controller also disconnects.
It disconnects most often when I'm in the menus in the skill tree/abilites/map menu.
Very frustrating. Please fix this, it's the only game this happens.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Topic Title. My controller keeps getting disconnected every 15 minutes. Not sure if what's causing this is the game or Ubi Connect application..
I'm connected to my PC via Bluetooth on the motherboard, and have all drivers/applications updated.
Hey folks,
Just started up AC Valhalla. Ready to play with my new Series X controller. Ubisoft connect recognizes the controller but the game doesn't? Also can't switch input modes in the settings (the option is greyed out). Anyone else with similar issues?
@xzxdarkhuntzxzx wonder if its a windows driver issue with series x, xbox one X controllers work fine and they are compatible with series x. IT should auto switch to it the moment you turn it on and hit a button as logn as you have it connected via bluetooth on a pc.
@diiorio Tried the controller with Forza Horizon and it also doesn't work so I have a feeling it's due to the controller itself. I thought microsoft products worked natively with other microsoft products...
Hi,
I play on the PC and have the problem that my Xbox Elite 2 controller is repeatedly disconnected and reconnected according to the overlay. So far, the problem only occurs with Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The period between disconnect and reconnect is not noticeable, but there is a massive lag in the game per connect message from the overlay.
Does anyone have any tips?
Alright so connecting the controller via cable works instantly. Connecting the new controller via bluetooth just isn't possible yet on Windows PC's I guess?
@XzXDarkHuntzXzX
Thanks for the report.
It sounds like there may need to be an update for the Bluetooth drivers, I'll certainly pass this on regardless.
@xzxdarkhuntzxzx may be something with the controller chip not set for window 10 or not detected right by windows. Check for driver updates from MS. the chip set may not yet be in current drivers that work with default xbox one controllers. COuld be a settign for bluetooth or device id not recognized.
hopefully it will be fixed soon.
how am i able to connect my controller to my pc in valhalla? i connected it to my computer and its flashing on but the game wont register it and wont let me change modes
Seconded - the controller works (well enough) with the Uplay Connect overlay, but the game itself is not recognizing my controller.
The game menu recognizes all inputs from my XBOX controller, but in-game it doesn't recognize the RB. You know, the one needed for light attacks... On PC.
@okiemarine so you just plugged yours in and it was able to recognize it no update or programming needed? mine wont even register when i plug it in
@shelty321 Yeah. My controller is always plugged in. It recognized it right away, even when I unplugged and plugged back in, trying to troubleshoot the button issue.
@shelty321 @okiemarine
That sounds familiar - the controller works, but the shoulder buttons don't register for me either. I also don't have the option to change the control from 'Mouse+Keyboard' to 'Controller'
Weird.
@Shelty321 @okiemarine
Ok, I found a workaround. Got to the first elite fight and WASD + Q + Shift + Alt for all the commands was not working for me.
I loaded Valhalla into Steam and launched from there - no issue with the controller at all from that point. I use 'SteamGridDB Manager' for this. Not sure if it will help with your particular issues, but it cleared up mine!
Xbox Series X controller not working for me when plugged in either. A Uplay popup shows that a controller is detected and it detects controller inputs when I activate the uplay overlay, but in game it is not detected.
What's super fun is this doesn't seem limited to PC only. While I do not yet have the new series x console in-hand, I did pick up one of the new controllers. They work with xbox one so no problem. It is great on the console. As soon as I start trying to play Valhalla, it is doing this really weird thing where it alternates between connected and disconnected every couple of seconds and appear to try to be swapping between keyboard and mouse and controller at those times. Either way, it effectively leaves the game unplayable with the new controller. I did not have this issue last night with a standard xbox one controller, but the issue appears to be limited strictly to Valhalla. Not sure how this went unnoticed.
