After eliminating the Britons in the river nothing happens after to progress the storyline. Seen on YouTube that you go back to the church to speak to Bishop Deorlaf to progress but this is not possible. Playing on ps4
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@b4st0un3 Thank you so much for sharing these video clips here! I'm happy to say that this issue with not being able to progress in "War Weary" due to Ceolbert being dead will be fixed in a future patch! The teams will share more detailed information about when this patch will go live on the game's official website, so please check here for specifics.
So after completing the mission to defeat leofrith my game bugged out somehow and wouldn't start the cutscene when returning Ceolbert to Ubba and Ivar. In attempt to solve this I killed Eivor by standing on some fire however Ceolbert followed to closely and caught fire himself and fell to the ground. After Eivor died and the game reloaded the cutscene started immediately so I assumed everything was fixed. However when I returned to my settlement to speak to Randvi I noticed Ceolbert laying on the ground, his dialogue was still working fine though. When a cutscene starts he hilariously shoots back to his feet until the cutscene ends and he drops straight back to the floor. I'm now on the war weary mission where I have to follow Ceolbert to the church, obviously this cannot be done as he just lays on the floor. I've tried carrying him to the church door however there's no luck. Is there anyway I can fix this as it's gonna be a pain especially if I'm gonna have to rely on ceolbert again??
After Ivarr killed Gwriad, the fight starts and somehow Ceolbert gets killed. First the Quest continues without him but after killing all the soldiers in Quatford, the Quest doesn't continue because dead Ceolbert is missing. Can't talk to anybody. Cant find a way to restart/ reset the Quest. No previous savegame.
I'm stuck with this bug as well. I've tried restarting, reloading. i even reloaded a much earlier save and progressed to the quest and got the same bug.
@gooby1452 I've just run into this same issue except in mine Ceolbert died in the cathedral during War Weary and I need him in order to continue. Did you ever find a way to resolve your issue?
@lycaionkc same here. I just sent support a message about it. If anyone knows a way to fix this please share. This is such bs.
@guest-pomeja6i in my particular case I found ceolbert dead in the cathedral. Can't continue the game if ceolbert is dead.
Hello I am on the War Weary quest and during one of the fights something must have happened as Ceolbert's model is dead on the floor of the church, halting all progression for me on the quest. My earliest save is hours before hand as from trying to fix the issue all of my auto saves were replaced. I am playing on ps5 and now cannot complete the game. I have no idea why important NPC's are not marked as unkillable by the game but it has unfortunetly ruined my experience now.
Mission War Weary is bugged. I just finished fighting in the water but nothing is happening, no mission objectives.
I've trying going back to earlier saves, leaving and entering animus and turning PS4 off and on but does the same each time. Now I'm stuck in area with a invisible wall.
I don't want to restart the entire game but looks like I may have to.
I have the same bug.
Anyone know how to fix? or cancel the quest? or skip the quest?
In the quest war weary, after you break out of the church and fight the small groups of soldiers in the courtyard and in the river. It is not giving me an update to the quest.
Please help me
Same bug and I reported it as well today. 42 hours in and super miffed at the moment. Quest npcs should be immortal and or an option to restart a quest should be available.
Same, can’t interact with anything to move the quest forward and no directions are showing under the quest heading ;(
I have the same problem - finishing the fight outside the church and then at the river, the quest updates but with no goal. There's no way to progress.
