After meeting and rescuing Dandy the Fox I headed slightly north along the road and found a wolf tied up in the bushes. After freeing the animal it stands up and I get a friendly wolf that follows me around and a low polygon model that appears and does not move. Under Odin Sight the wolf is highlighted white

If I go past any unfriendly NPCs or if I mount my horse, the wolf runs off some distance, is highlighted red under odin sight and snarls incessantly - however is unkillable and does not attack. Any attacks to it will cause it to whimper, but no reduction in heal or change in behaviour.

If I fast travel away, the game completely crashes.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@torchi_au Very strange indeed! Sorry to hear you have encountered this.

Can you provide us with a brief video detailing this happening?

@ubi-swaggins Thanks for getting back to me! I made a quick video covering the above (it cuts out when the game crashes 😊 )

@ubi-swaggins I did a manual save at that game point and then without releasing the wolf fast travelled away. When I returned to the point, the wolf was no longer there to be freed, so I assume that this is a random world event that despawned when I ignored it.

While wandering around the other day on AC Valhalla I came across this wolf laying on the ground howling. As I approached the action message appeared above the wolf's head saying something like "Help Free" -- so I pressed the triangle button & suddenly up jumped the wolf suddenly tame/friendly. When I pressed Odin's Site it wasn't red, but actually white (even with a green dot above it's body, just like the people in our own raiding crews). As I ran around, the wolf would follow me everywhere I went & when I was attacked wolf even jumped in to defend me:

@ubi-swaggins still happening, though i have no video of it, wolf was in Wessex just NW of Stonehenge, had to do a manual save so it didn't crash out.

@jdl2025 Thank you so much for your patience, and no worries about a video. I am sorry that you have experienced this issue with the wolf as well. Do you think you could send your most recent manual save to the cloud? Then let me know when you have done so and I'll forward it to the Game team to be included with their investigation.
